College Admissions Essay: A Career As A Career
I think that it’s possible for you to like work as long as you do it on time. The work most teachers give out isn’t that bad and doesn’t take that long. If you get behind, you’re most likely to create an even deeper hole for yourself. That’s why you should always turn in your work on time, so you don’t have to deal with later and not get on the teacher’s nerves! The best job that I’ve had that doesn’t pay is being treasurer for my previous school and Torch Club. I like this job because it makes me feel better about myself, like someone actually trusts me. Being treasurer also helps me in other fields. For example, I won the Torch Club election because I had experience in 5th grade. The best paying job I’ve had was cleaning my Uncle’s Lee J. car. My twin sister and I cleaned it once and had gotten 5 dollars. My …show more content…
The main five are: anime animator, novelist/ manga artist, entertainment lawyer, some type of doctor or surgeon, and an instrumentalist. I can adapt to settings well, in my eyes. It may take a week or two, but I eventually come around. I think these settings will fit me because I love to explore different possibilities for the future and beyond, just in case something goes wrong. Something I’ve learned from working is that it is not always fun. I learned that the necessities like doing the dishes and doing the laundry isn’t always fun, yet you have to do it. Usually things such as washing the car, or babysitting is more fun than the necessities. Even though you may not like something, and it’s probably something you need to do like chores, you still have to do it- is what I’ve learned. The worst job I’ve ever had was when I had to pick up my friends dog’s poop. I was staying at his house with my sister while my mother was at work and he was doing chores. I didn’t want to seem like a lazy person, so I decided to help out. We had clean his room, the stairs, the living room, and

As young college students we often have jobs that are customer service oriented. We can all relate to what Quentin Schultze is saying in the section “Putting Our Hearts into Our Stations” we he says “My first paid job was cleaning and restocking shelves in a family drugstore. After one week, I had mastered the work and grown bored (Schultze 37).” This is so relatable to me. Growing up in Puerto Rico, I’ve been working since the early age of 14 and even before then I helped out my mother with her business and my grandparents at their farm. My very first job outside of my family was as an office aid at a human resource department, I felt very lucky being so young, surrounded by adults in their fancy suits. Little did I know the title office aid…

The worst job I’ve ever had was probably working at Petsmart, in Sand City. I have had a lot of jobs and this made me realize I don’t like working at corporations or in retail. I grew up in the country and have always had jobs doing physical labor either at my parent’s farm, or the surrounding farms. When I first started working at Petsmart I liked it. As time went on I started to see how bad it really was. The management was horrible, I was assigned for a graveyard type job, and no one did anything until the District manager was coming in that week.…

Everyone has to work for a living. The choice is yours whether or not you enjoy it. I am fortunate that I enjoy my career field; I just don’t love the monetary benefits. This, among many other reasons, is why I decided to go back to school. Obtaining a job that pays better, showing my kids how important having an education is, and challenging myself to make a better life for my family are the reasons why I went back to school.…

My uncle offered me a job at a factory called Carriage House Incorporated. He also added in the fact that the pay wage was high. I was eager to start my adult life and work full-time, so I took the offer. The work was hard labor, not really worth the money after all. I would get paid and work so much that I didn’t have time to enjoy the money I had worked for. As the years went by I became worn down and bored with the everyday routine.…

For a little extra money to see a movie or go out to dinner once a week, my freshman roommate worked a job at the university, earning about $7/hour. He would work his butt off all day, with two or sometimes three basketball training sessions, plus classes and homework, and go to that job for a few hours late at night. He would come back exhausted, but he needed whatever money they would pay him.…

This is a commitment that involves both the health care provider and the patient. A work as a courtesy clerk for Hy-Vee after my classes and on the weekends. I have worked there for over two years and transferred last semester so that I could attend college in the Ankeny area. Because I do around five to six classes a semester I always have to be careful about the amount of hours that I take on. Sometimes my shifts can be around twenty hours and week which, coupled with all the schoolwork that I do, can be taxing at times. Because of the fact that I live on campus, the location of my work is very important and was a defining reason of why I decided to transfer to the Hy-Vee on South West State Street.…

The career that I have literally chosen is the automotive service technician and mechanics career. The reason why I chose this career it’s because… Well actually I have plenty and many reasons to choose from because I am very passionate about this career and I have lived through it my entire life. One reason is that Auto Mechanics is because to me it’s an interesting field to me. I decided to explore the topic a little more to get a better understanding of what it would take to become a successful automotive technician . I have lived through the auto mechanics field pretty much all through my life. Well actually since I have been born. The reason of this is very simple. That is because my very own dad is an auto mechanic himself. Well actually to be more exact, he owns his own auto mechanic shop. Since I was little I have always helped him at his work because I have always enjoyed working with vehicles. Since the very first day that I started working with him I already knew that the automotive field was the job for me. Since I was a baby my very own parents use to tell me that I would disappear out of their sight. And when they used to find me I used to be playing with the tools besides my dad helping him out. I have pretty much made my mind up about actually going further in this career. Not only because I actually enjoy doing that job but also because of the pay check that you receive. Well actually that is a bonus in it. It does matter to me the money that you earn in it but not as much as I like doing the activity of interacting and working with automobiles. I have faith in me that one day I am not only going to fix cars, but I am also going to own my own shop myself.…

    My worst job

Being a bus boy for this restaurant was probably the most difficult thing to do. Not only did I have to clean tables off, but I also had to sit people down and get their drinks. The bussers had to constantly walk back and forth through the dining area to make sure people got what they wanted. It got real tiring after a while, especially if you weren’t wearing comfortable shoes. At the end of a long day my feet would be killing me, but I guess it was also my fault for not wearing comfortable shoes. Rush hour was never fun, that’s when we had to really hustle around the restaurant and tend to people other wise we weren’t going to have happy customers. I had to clean tables and get them set just as fast so that the people waiting up front could sit down and usually I would have to clean a table by myself during rush hour because the other bussers were either busy or we didn’t have enough bussers which always made me mad because I would have to do double the work in the same amount of time as if there was another busser helping me. It was very stressful and demanding on me, but in my opinion the worst part of being a busser had to be brining dinner tables up and down the basement stairs when we had big parties come in. The tables were big and heavy and the staircase was super narrow and curved. So when we got to the curve the other busser and me had to lift it over our heads to get around the bend and to make things even more difficult there was always stuff on the steps so we had to make sure we didn’t trip over anything. Then came the door, the most challenging obstacle to get through with the…

The Worst Job I Ever Had

Many of us have to go through different hurdles in our life and one among those is having the worst job. All of us have to work in this world and the jobs that we get may not be the best job that we like. “All things are difficult before they are easy” (Fuller, Brainy Quote). The printing job was the worst job that I ever had. I was assigned to print designs on the T-shirts. There were two huge machines that looked like a waffle maker with two hot surface sides that can hold an extra extra large size T-shirt. The T-shirts were plain and available in different colors, texture and sizes. Each design has the word New York and a picture that promotes the New York City. For example, there were pictures of the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the National Museum of History, etc. After the T-shirts’ are printed, the owner will sell them in Manhattan city for $2.00 each. I had to quit the job on the first day because it had many risks involved; I had to face many difficulties and there were only minimum rights given to the employees.…
