I would also deploy an online ordering process which will take customers’ online orders, to help eliminate manual paperwork and telephone takeout orders. To deal with this managerial issue, David has to consider three categories of costs: Start up costs required to be invested in the business, Fixed monthly costs that are to be bore as result of operations and variable costs, that result with every customer visit to the café. There is an assumption that loan from JTL in the startup is a 5 year loan with principal payable on maturity and 10% simple interest payable monthly. Also, part time students work for 15 hours and daily require two workers, hence monthly need 2 * 15 * 30 = 900 hours of work at $40 / hour.…

The coffee shop can become more profitable with some minor changes. The business is open 20 hours per day. It would be wise to expand the business hours to 24 hours per day. While the competition, Queequeg’s Coffee has more locations, Tim’s Coffee Shop is the closest to the railways and the university. By opening all night, those late night study cram sessions could turn profitable, as a latte at 4AM will help the students relax, stay focused and study.…

From Mc World and cow boy capitalism to cultural ecumene and glocalisation, theorists are continually inventing polychromatic phrases to explain their differing points of view on cultural shifts caused by globalisation. “Globalization has been associated with a range of cultural consequences. These can be analysed in terms of three major theses, namely, homogenization, polarization, and hybridization,” (Holton 2000). This essay seeks to lend credence to the hybridization thesis, by observing a coffee house located in the developing country of Trinidad and Tobago (T&T). Focusing on the aesthetics of the café and the purchase behaviour of its customers, this essay intends to evaluate the attempt of this organisation to create a coffee culture in T&T. This evaluation will then inform the argument of hybridization by demonstrating how cultures exchange elements with each other thereby creating new, hybrid identities.…

Café LUX* products are its own made coffee and baked cakes as well as its home-made food specialty ("Coffee Shop, Coffee Shops, Coffee Shop in Mauritius – Café LUX*" 2016). The product that is going to be served is the most important part of a whole plan. Therefore, good strategies need to be implemented to make sure the products are able to attract the needed target audience. In its franchises in Mauritius, Café LUX* has been selling the same products across its stores. The primary product strategy that is going to be used is that of standardisation. Standardisation happens when a common marketing approach is shared on a national as well as international basis (Whitelock 1987). Starbucks Term Paper

    1. I find myself frequenting Starbucks more than a couple of times a week. Starbucks is a food and beverage non-durable good. There are Starbucks cafes littered throughout cities, throughout the nation and in other countries as well. Starbucks not only has their own cafes but they also rent space in grocery stores such as Safeway and Albertsons. Starbucks also sells canned and bottled coffees in grocery stores for people who like the convenience of just grabbing a coffee from home instead of having to visit their café. Starbucks not only offers cold and hot beverages in their cafes but they also offer food, ground coffee, packages of tea, and other non-perishable goods. When I visit Starbucks I usually leave with either an iced Carmel macchiato, iced white chocolate mocha, or iced passion fruit tea lemonade. Every once in a while you might catch me buying oatmeal, too. One main reason for my visits to Starbucks is a sociocultural influence; my fiancé likes to go there. He likes their mochas and predictability. Another two reasons for my frequent purchases at Starbucks are situational influences; they keep their buildings and parking lots clean and they provide a drive thru. Drive thru’s are a must for people who are in a hurry or are still in their pajamas and do not wish to walk into a store and have other people give them funny looks.…
