It could also make people mood happier. There is a lot of students falling asleep in class because they don’t have energy to stay awake during class so I think there should be vending machine and soda machines in school so the students could stay awake during the class period and not fall asleep. The main benefit of the school board trying to regulate healthier foods into their breakfast and lunch menu is to make sure our youth are eating right and getting all the nutrients they need to live a strong and healthy life. They want to make sure, even if they aren’t eating right at home, they are getting some sort of healthy foods. Even if it is only once a day, they are hoping that this new impact will be a start to students wanting to eat healthier and be more active.…

I have noticed that every time I go to my local McDonalds the soda machine, or latte machine is always down. This is extremely frustrating. During breakfast most people would like to drink their lattes or even a cold soda. I’m going to give my complaints on why this may frustrate people or elders sometimes.…

In the article no lunch left behind by Alice Walters and Katrina Heron they try to purpose better food for schools and adjusting kids eating habits. Schools should be trying to cut obesity and provide helathier food on campus, since obesity has been increasing in the younger age. I think we need to provide better food, keep soda out of machines, and add more fruit and vegables with the lunch's that are provided at school.…

One reason that the school boards should improve our school lunches is because kids get to choose want they want for school. According Mary L. Gavin, MD can choose to eat the green beans or throw them out. A kid also can choose to eat an apple instead of an ice cream sandwich. Another reason is Because they serve junk food everyday. According to Richard J. Codey junk food should be banned at schools because it leads to obesity. It also can affect their future for them. My last reason they should change our school lunch is that during lunch a kid eats half of their calories during lunch in school, because they…

“So from eating out, we can also learn how to make wise choices.” This would make students prepared for college by enabling them to leave campus and eat what they want. This independence would get kids ready to face the real world. “It provides a semi-sheltered climate to allow students to grow and become responsible.” This would give teens the privilege of not being watched every second of the day. If students disobeyed the rules of when they should be back, they could take away the privilege or give punishment. Throughout high school students don’t have very many opportunities to show how independent they are any letting them leave for lunch would be a perfect way for teens to show teachers they can be trusted and can survive in the real world.I know a lot of high school students who are very shy and keep to themselves. With the ability to leave school during lunch, kids would become more outgoing because there would be many more chances for them to socialize and interact with the real world. “If students have the privilege of off-campus lunch, they will gain more responsibility and more experience on how the real world works.” All kids have a big part in the future of our job…

Firstly, I support the breakfast program because kids will have better health. For example, by eating breakfast kids have energy. For me, when I wake up in the morning I feel like going back to sleep. After hurrying to school and skipping breakfast I become distracted in class and my stomach begins to ache. However, with the breakfast program kids will come to school unstressed about missing breakfast and will be wide awake, full of energy and ready to learn. Adding the breakfast program will guarantee that kids maintain energy and succeed in school. Another example of why I support the breakfast program is because without breakfast you will develop a belly and/or become overweight. Without starting your metabolism early in the day, when lunch comes an issue occurs. Without breakfast you’re metabolism starts late in the day which will overall result in a very slow metabolism. However, with the breakfast program this obesity will not be an issue in this school district. The breakfast program will definitely help prevent kid and teen obesity.…

Schools should make sure that the lunch they provide is nutritious. Julia Tofan, a high school student in Connecticut states, “Students deserve balanced meals that will enable our minds and bodies to power through our busy days -- not a sugar rush that won't last beyond the lunch period” (Tofan and Millerick 1). Tofan is insisting that school lunches should be healthy. School providing junk food to the students are failing them because those are calories that break down easily. Once that food is gone the students will be hungry again making lunch a waste. However, healthy foods will stick with students throughout a longer period of time as well as helping students become healthier. Schools providing nutritious lunches will allow students to…

According to Change.org, 9 out of 10 students say they would eat something else besides lunch food if they had a choice. A variety of food choices outside of school will benefit a student's health. Likewise, teens need the option to go out and take a break from their 8 hour school day. According to a student on Change.org, “refreshing our minds before the next few classes would really help us focus more, being in a happier environment.” Students need a break from slaving in a desk all day, doing school work. Leaving school for lunch gives students some fresh air and time to relax their brain. Leaving school to go get lunch would help students with their physical and mental…

School lunch may not be every students favorite part of the day, but lunch can make a big impact on a child. School lunches lack healthy nutrients that growing children and teens need. Because, schools lack the proper funding needed to support students with healthy lunches, students have a horrible diet. A lot of people, including myself, believe that if healthy school lunches were provided students at home would make better choices when it came to what snacks they ate between meals. If schools got better funding for healthier lunches it could theoretically save the government more money because the students in turn would have less health problems.…

This same factor has a ripple effect on the student because it also limits them on what various types of meals they can choose during lunch hour, a poor selection of unhealthy foods leads to poor dieting. “The reimbursement rate for a reduced-price lunch is $2.17 and 24 cents for a paid meal. When you factor in labor and other school costs, schools have less than $1 per day per student to spend on food for lunch”(C.P.F.). Limiting yourself to just $1 dollar to use towards food would be nearly impossible to survive off of, let alone to eat or choose a healthy meal. This not only limits student and young adults of what they are able to eat during lunch if they cannot afford to bring their own lunch, but it also gets them into the habit of making a poor choice in food. “Fewer than 15 percent of the two million American elementary school-aged children eat the recommended five or more daily servings of fruits and vegetables" (Myrdal). If these poor eating habits continue or continue decrease, than the obesity will only continue to grow. In order for our young children of America to begin to change their unhealthy eating habits, parents and other leaders must promote healthy eating habits and explain the importance of proper dieting, which can start by cutting back on processed…
