The Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, is known for her experience in the field. Clinton has been First Lady of Arkansas, First Lady of the United States, Secretary of State, and Senator for New York, and maybe our First Female President. Although she has experience, many of her voters doubt her honesty. Clillizza writes that “much of her negatives are already baked in to voters’ decisions about her. As in, sure they may have doubts about trusting Clinton, but they’ve already factored that into their decision and decided that her experience matters more to them” (Cillizza,2016).…

I became confident because the student government members are all about positivity. No matter how many or what mistakes I made, they built me up. Becoming the president changed my whole perspective on the students at our school. I realized that sometimes the way we make ourselves seem to others, isn’t always who we really are. I used to pretend I didn’t have any worries but it became tiring to keep things to myself all the time when I didn’t have to. I’ve gotten the pleasure to meet many student government members who have turned my life around and shocked me. It taught me to never hesitate to go out of the way to do things for people because they will appreciate it even if their pride won’t let them show it. Sometimes saying a small, yet nice compliment or giving someone a part of your lunch can make their whole week. I don’t know peoples stories and it’s not my place to assume anything. Having fifty members under me has made me understand that in more ways than I can think of. Being a part of this association hasn’t just made me a better person, it made me into who I am today. Someone who is always optimistic and always willing to try again and again even when it seems like all else has…

As a daughter of the American Revolution, I believe dependability, service, leadership and patriotism are essential to being a good citizen. These words describe how it is important to focus on deeds that are larger than us. To me, there is more to life than worrying about how I look and how popular I am. These qualities reassure that I go out of my way for others who need it. Not everyone can stand up for themselves; I recognize when a situation is wrong and understand it is my duty to advocate for these people. By doing this, I put others before myself by demonstrating the care for others rather than what people think about me.…

Honesty is another strong characteristic that makes up a good president. Abraham Lincoln was known to be so honest he was given the nickname honest Abe. Many people know that fact but many do not know why. Before he was elected president is when Lincoln earned the nickname; he was working as a store clerk and if he ever shorthanded a customer he would close shop and walk however far no matter what to deliver the right change(Burlingame 1). This later led to people "[recognizing] his integrity and [people] were soon asking him to act as a judge or a mediator in various contests, fights, and arguments"(Burlingame 1). This is a good characteristic as president because it gains trust for the people supporting and to Lincoln that was important. He used his honesty throughout his term, he used it when explaining to his commanders and also when dealing with politics. By being so honest shows that he was the best president, the people he was leading rusted him and his actions making it easier to win the war an making…
