Healthy Relationship
Being in a healthy relationship with someone means feeling good about oneself when one is around that person. One feels safe around that person and feels one can trust such person with one's secrets. Listed below are what makes a healthy relationship:

i) Mutual respect: - He or she values you for who you are and will never challenge your boundaries. ii) Trust: - Trust is one of the main keys of a healthy relationship. He or she has to trust you that you will never cheat on him or her, even if he or she sees you with any other person of the opposite sex. Even though jealousy is a natural emotion, the way your partner reacts when he or she feels jealous matters a lot. iii) Honesty: - Honesty collides with trust. If your partner is not been honest or lies, it will be very difficult for you to trust such partner. iv) Support: - Your partner has to support and comfort you both in good and bad times. v) Fairness/equality: - Your relationship doesn't have to be exactly equal for it to be fair, but it has to be a give and take relationship. Both of you have to take turns and have to get your ways equally all the time. vi) Separate identities: - Just because you are in a relationship does not mean you should stop seeing your friends, drop out of activities you love, change your interests and so on. Do not pretend to like things you do not like. Always be yourself. Be the same and real you as you have always been before you met him or her. Also develop new interests and meet new people while you are with your partner. vii) Good communication: - Never feel scared of saying what is on your mind. If you need time to think about it before saying it, always ask your partner if you can think about it. If your partner is the right person, he or she will let you do as you have said.

An unhealthy relationship occurs when there is lack of trust, honesty, respect, when it involves abusive behavior. Unhealthy relationship makes you feel sad, worried, angry and even

The four characteristics that define intimate relationships are behavioral interdependence, needs fulfillment, emotional attachment, and emotional availability. Behavioral interdependence is how people affect one another mutually daily as their lives link. One person influences what the other wants to do, and can do. Emotional attachment within relationships involves strong bonds, such as love, sex, religious beliefs, and sharing. The last characteristic is emotional availability that means the ability to give and receive emotionally without the feelings of hurt or rejection. Building relationships involve a degree of risk because no one knows what the other is bringing to the relationship (especially when it is new), until one can share, trust, and care.…
