1.According to the kinetic theory, both the particles in gases and the particles in liquids have kinetic energy. This energy allows the particles in gases and liquids to flow past one another, as shown in Figure 13.5. Substances that can flow are referred to as fluids. The ability of gases and liquids to flow allows them to conform to the shape of their containers.…

combination and behaviour under various conditions, it is everywhere and without it we would not be a civilized and highly technical world. Chemistry explains how food changes as you cook it, how it rots, how to preserve food, how your body uses the food you eat, and how ingredients interact to make food. You use chemistry when you use bleaches and disinfectants and even ordinary soap and water. How do they work? That's chemistry! You need to understand basic chemistry so you can understand how vitamins, supplements, and drugs can help or harm you. The importance of chemistry lies partly in developing and testing new medical treatments and medicines. Chemistry is at the heart of environmental issues. What makes one chemical a nutrient and another chemical a pollutant? How can you clean up the environment? What processes can produce the things you need without harming the environment? We're all chemists in some way or another. We use chemicals every day and perform chemical reactions without thinking much about them. Chemistry is important because everything you do is chemistry! Even your body is made of chemicals. Chemical reactions occur when you breathe, eat, or just sit there reading. All matter is made of chemicals, so the importance of chemistry is that it's the study of everything.…

Methane to Butane are colourless gases, while propane and butane are easily condensed under pressure and commonly sold as liquids. In addition, alkanes containing between five carbons to nineteen are colourless liquids. Petrol and kerosene are mixtures of liquid alkanes, with dye added to them for safety precautions. Furthermore, alkanes are used as fuels because they will combust since large amounts of energy are released due to the reason that the longer the chain, the more bonds are broken, and the greater the energy released. With this in mind, alkanes that are used as components of petrol should be stored in metal containers with narrow mouths and tightly sealed lids to prevent the vapour from escaping and to prevent a naked flame or spark from igniting the vapour or air mixture.…

Such a gender imbalance is unsuitable for the countries development. The present study aims to analyse the factors of decline of men population in the higher education, especially in science. A systematic study has been carried out for nine years on the strength of students in the Chemistry course of Pope's College, Sawyerpuram. The data were analysed statistically and interpreted. Along with a survey has been conducted among the students, staff and parents of the students. It was found that the de-motivation from self-finance stream and the longer endurance needed for science education are the major factor for the decline in the number of male students in higher education.
