Chelsea Joy Handler is one of the most influential women in the world today who has taken her wits, sarcasm, accomplishments, and failures, and has built an empire of success, lifelong friends, and wealth. From her television shows to her own writings and views, Chelsea Handler is a force to be reckoned with. Handler was born in Livingston, NJ but relocated to Los Angeles at the age of 19, (CBS), to pursue her career. She started out as a waitress and continued to waitress until the age of 26 (Business Insider).She later used her waitressing experience as a first act in a stand-up comedy show at the Improv Comedy Club. Chelsea is a woman who is extremely funny, sarcastic, and intelligent. Her smarts, good looks, and wits have carried her a long way in her life and in her career. Chelsea was once arrested for a DUI and had to spend two nights in the Sybil Brand Correctional Facility for fraud .(Brennan) This was due to her stealing her sister’s identity to be able to be admitted into bars and drink underage, which is something Chelsea has always done on a regular basis since she was 16 years old. She was required to do community service and attend a class for DUI offenders. Everyone in that class was required to state the facts concerning their arrest. When Chelsea was describing the facts that pertained to her own arrest, everyone found it to be very comical and was hysterically laughing (CBS). This is what led Chelsea to the real beginning of her comedic career.
Chelsea loves to play jokes on people. She gets a kick out of doing so. Handler has led a life of practical joking but that very trait is what has led her to life of success. The pranks were usually played on family, friends, and colleagues.
