Checkerboard SquaresProblem Statement: Suppose you have a square checkerboard of some size other than an 8 by 8. How can you determine how many squares are on it altogether. You will know you are done when no matter what size checkerboard you are given, you can give a clear procedure for easily computing the total number of squares.Process: To solve this problem, you would first have to make or find a square (example=6by6). Then you would have to find how many total squares are found in this big square. To do this we need to find an equation, we can do this by using math and the knowledge of knowing the square is 6 by 6. To do this you could multiply 6 by 6 and you get the answer. There are multiple answers/solutions

II. Analysis. The intent for this program is to calculate the square footage of a house with no more than four rooms that are rectangular in shape. In order to do this we will identify each room, input the length (l) and width (w) of each room, multiply the l x w of each room to get the square foot, and add the sum of each room to secure the total square footage of the house.…

My task was to find 3 equations, that would give me an answer, if I had certain information. The first was to find one that if you knew that there were four pegs on the boundary, and none on the interior, you could get the area. The second was if you knew that there were 4 pegs on the boundary, and you knew how many were on the interior, you could get the area. And last, if you had the number on the interior, and the number on the boundary, you could get the area.…

Process: Given that she lined them up by twos and one was left over, by threes and one was left over, by fours and one was left over, by fives and one was left over, by sixes and one was left over and by sevens and it came out evenly, we figure the number had to be a multiple of seven and end in a one or a six. (Anything divisible by five with one left over has to end in a one or six: 6, 11, 16, 21, etc. We figure that out when we eliminated 49 as an answer.)…

Well first off I was really overthinking this and thought it was going to be super hard and I was going to have to draw diagrams and figure out what pattern would work or not. Sure enough, I was wrong. Since in class we are using guess and check I decided that would be a good idea. I thought about it for a while and wrote some stuff down on paper but nothing was making any sense. I would guess something and it wasn’t even in the ballpark, At All… So after I totally gave up on that method I tried to find a pattern from question to question, nope nothing. I was really close to giving up when I decided to try something simpler. That maybe if I thought about it in a different way or changed my perspective that I could find the answer. I crumpled up my old diagrams and…

The Pythagorean Theorem was termed after Pythagoras, who was a well-known Greek philosopher and mathematician, and the Pythagorean Theorem is one of the first theorems identified in ancient civilizations. “The Pythagorean theorem says that in any right triangle the sum of the squares of the lengths of the legs is equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse” (Dugopolski, 2012, p. 366 para. 8). For this reason, many builders from various times throughout history have used this theorem to assure that their foundations were laid out with right angles. In this assignment, we will use the example of locating a treasure using two different treasure maps as the two points needed to determine how many paces it will take to find the exact location to start digging for treasure.…
