Case Study Of Walmart's Persuasive Memo
A situation where Walmart can uses a persuasive message could be a message to their workers to report them that they need to work overtime on any holiday day like Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year’s Eve. The people that the message would be directed are their employees. The action that is demand is to work and cover those hours of operation where the company would be offering their services.

Want to earn more money this holidays? Walmart is offering the opportunity to earn more money to their employees by working overtime on holidays.
The holidays are the most challenging time of the year to curtail spending, thanks to the long gift list of our relatives (family, friends and coworkers). Employees can take advantage of this

In 2008 a Minnesota judge ruled that Wal-Mart had violated labor practices more than two million times by forcing workers to work off the clock without pay and not allowing them time for breaks. In 2000, Wal-Mart settled out of court with 69,000 workers in Colorado who also claimed they had been force to work off the clock. In 2005, they were forced to pay 172 million dollars to 116,000 California employees who had been denied a lunch break on shifts over six hours.     Now for a few positives, Wal-Mart is selling allot of goods in retail, which increases productivity in the retail trade. According to U.S. Department of Labor, labor productivity rose in Wal-Mart for 8 percent since 1987 to 2004. Another thing is consumer surplus. People can buy products for less then what they are paying at another store so it adds up. Discount stores appeal more to poor and middle class people.
