Case Study: Kudler Fine Foods Frequent Shopper Program
Kudler Fine Foods wants to deploy a Frequent Shopper Program for its valued customer, while still capable of meeting the desires of the company. As with any new system which must be developed, the scope and goals of the project must be properly outlined, measures by which we may determine the success of the project must be defined, an analysis of the total feasibility of the project must be made, along with a properly created set of requirements that will be met for the completion of the program.

ScopeKudler foods need a system that customers can create an account over the internet to keep track of their purchases and also allow the customer to login and manage their account to track their points and redeem them for rewards. With an account

Before we can get a system going, we have to look at some of the components we are going to need to make the system work. Kudler has a web site but it will need to be updated and many system changes to for a web based application to be implemented into it. "Internet and Web technologies present an attractive alternative for implementing information systems. For example, consider the problem of data entry and access by an RMO buyer when purchasing items from its suppliers. Buyers are typically on the road for several months a year, often for weeks at a time. A traveling buyer needs some means of remotely interacting with RMO 's supply chain management (SCM) system to record purchasing agreements and query inventory status".( Apollo Group 2004)In this case the internet wouldn 't be an alternative but part of the main process to allow the shoppers to access their account. There will be many things to consider in this process like a SQL data base and types of networks to use for online interaction to commence.

List of Confirmed RequirementsKudler understands that the use of a network, internet, a good database, and web base applications are vital to improving Kudler 's Frequent Shopper program. The next step is deciding which requirements are mandatory to use and which ones are optional to use. Without these vital requirements, the improvement would not be possible.
