SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE BOARD OF INDIA Recruitment of Officer Grade A (General Stream)
Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), is a statutory regulatory body established by an Act of Parliament, to protect the interests of investors in securities, to promote the development of and to regulate the securities market. SEBI invites applications from Indian citizens for the post of Officer Grade A (General Stream). I. IMPORTANT DATES: On line Application Payment of fee On-Line Payment of Fee Off-Line Availability of Call Letters on SEBI website (for OnLine Examination) Date of On-Line Examination II. 12/08/2013 to 26/08/2013 12/08/2013 to 26/08/2013 14/08/2013 to 30/08/2013 07/09/2013 (tentative) 15/09/2013 (tentative) IV. MODE OF SELECTION: Mode of selection will be On-Line Examination and Interview as under: a. On-Line Examination: An on-line examination of Objective type (Multiple Choice) for 200 marks will tentatively be held on Sunday, 15/09/2013. The examination will consist of sections for i) English Language, ii) Quantitative Aptitude, iii) Reasoning ability and iv) General Awareness. Candidates would have to secure minimum marks separately for each section as decided by SEBI, based on Group Performance. ST 5 Out of which PWD (^^) 2 b. Interview: Candidates will be short-listed for interview based on the aggregate marks obtained in the online examination. SEBI reserves the right to modify the selection procedure, if deemed fit. V. PRE-EXAMINATION TRAINING SC/ST/PWD CANDIDATES: a. FOR c. Work experience: Experience in the related field will be considered during the selection process. The candidate will be required to submit the experience certificate(s) from employer(s). Age limit (as on 31/07/2013): Not above 27 years as on 31/07/2013 i.e. applicants must have been born on or after 01/08/1986 (Relaxable by 10 years for PWD candidates, 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates). There is no age limit for internal candidates.

    SEBI has constituted a standing committee, chaired by Shri M S Verma, Chairman, TRAI. This committee comprises representatives from ICAI, ICSI, investor associations, merchant bankers, Industry associations, Ministry of Finance etc. The terms of reference of this committee are as follows : 1. To advise SEBI on matters relating to regulation of intermediaries for ensuring investor protection in the primary market. 2. To advise SEBI on issues related to development of primary market in ndia. 3. To advise SEBI on matters required to be taken by for changes in legal framework to introduce simplification and transparency in the primary market. This committee meets at regular intervals and makes recommendations to SEBI. The committee had received several representations from merchant bankers and other participants in the primary market regarding the various changes required in the SEBI (Disclosure and investor Protection) Guidelines, 2000, in order to make it more market/investor friendly. The committee discussed these suggestions and has made the following recommendations to SEBI : (I) Provisions relating to Book Building I (1) Requirement to mention floor price in the Red Herring Present Position The company is required to disclose the floor price in the Red Herring Prospectus to be submitted to RoC, at least 3 days prior to the bid opening date, as per Clause No. 11.3.1(vii)(a) of SEBI (DIP) Guidelines, 2000. Recommendation The company may be allowed to disclose the floor price, just prior to the bid opening date, instead of in the Red herring Prospectus. This may be done by any means like a public advertisement in newspapers etc. Rationale As per provisions of section 60B (2) of Companies Act, 1956 Red Herring prospectus is to be filed with ROC at least 3 days prior to the bid opening date.
