The way that Cabeza de Vaca survived that he used his ways of thinking like his way to heal people and his wilderness skills and his respect for native americans to help him get back home. So the way he will get back is that he will use of all of his unique skills to help him to get back to Mexico with the spanish so they can help him to get home to Spain. And when he was trying to get back to Spain he got shipwrecked on the border of Florida and then again on the line of Texas. That was the time that he had to use his respect for Native Americans to recuse himself from being killed by the Natives.
