Two weeks is just not enough time to truly appreciate the high continuity and deranged physiology of such a magnificent beast, as I review obsolete trails to compare to cutting edge evidence medicine to encompass the best treatment options for my patient. suddenly, I awaken on the general medicine floor to my attending asking me how I would like to proceed to manage my patient’s C. diff infection. Yes C diff infection is important and common disease that effects hospitalized patients at a growing rate and attention must be paid as to treat or not to treat. However I can help but baskin in the joy of teaching the medical students about risk of mortality of the patient we just admitted with a spinal abscess compressing the spinal cord at the L4 and L5 region.

Neurology was always my first choice. I am excited to be amongst the Neurology community. I could not have found a better fit for my life career choice. When posed with the question of why this specialty course, my answer is always easy and clear. There have been great leaps and bounds in th progression of treatment and the way we

My dream for the next four years is to achieve a Physician Assistant degree at St. John’s University. As I transition to college from high school, I understand how there is no one in the world besides myself to help me reach my goal and it will require hard work as well as motivation to reach that point. At times, I feel overwhelmed with the struggles that arise in achieving my degree, but that would not stop me from my main point in coming to this school. I am able to connect my experience to the experience the Nolan’s and my dad went through when it was their time to achieve their dreams. It’s amazing how much I’ve learned in the past eight months at Fortis Institute. It’s just so hard to believe that less than two weeks we will be done with my education. I must admit I will miss spending my time here. But most of all I will never forget the experience I received as an Intern Medical Assistant working with Patients.
Making a difference in someone’s life just fascinates me, knowing that I have the power to help someone. Working at North Belt Medical Clinic as a Medical Assistant intern is one of the greatest life experience. I will not trade it in for any other work field. Becoming an assistant also supplies knowledge of the most intimate interactions of the natural processes, giving a glimpse of processes that are not easy to understand. At this Center the patients are Diabetes related. As I spend more time as an intern at this Clinic I was inspired by Dr. Willie Harrison who helped and gave hope to many of these people, had myself raise some questions on the concepts and wonder what it would be like to be a part of the North Belt Medical team or somewhat relate to this field. I believe that Medical Assistant program classes at Fortis Institute help gave me an opportunity to pursue my passion for helping those with medical problems and let me feel at ease on the first hand training at the North Belt Medical Clinic. At the North Belt Medical Clinic I learn to Answering phones and making appointments ordering supplies, greeting patients, pulling and filing patient charts, calling in or faxing prescriptions, converting charts to electronic charting. Hopefully I can take these skills I learn and better myself in life.…

I chose nursing as my profession because of my mother and other factors. My mother was an influence because early this year she was in the hospital for two weeks and during that period I only saw the doctor thrice. The nurses where the ones doing everything, so I felt they were the ones who nursed her back to health. The other deciding factors were: variety of places for jobs whether in the public, private, or community setting; the opportunity to learn new things since no day is ever the same; the opportunity to work with other health professionals; nurses will always be needed; nursing offers specialty areas, and the opportunity to be a traveling nursing.…
