Topic: Business Opportunities for Travel Industry in ASEAN
General Purpose: To inform
Specific Purpose: To inform my audience about the some business opportunities for travel industry in ASEAN
Central Idea: ASEAN will open up many business opportunities for travel industry including Cruise ship tourism, MICE tourism, and ecotourism.

Introduction: Attention: Welcome. Chào mùng. Selamat Datang. Mabuhay. Sohm Swaakohm. Mingalaba. Yin Dee Tohn Hap. Sawaddee. Welcome everyone to ASEAN community. 900 million people a year travel internationally (WHO, 2012). By 2015, ASEAN will become the favorite travel destination with flow of goods, services and people. Credibility: As we live in ASEAN. We work in ASEAN. And most of you will be doing business in the future. Any changes in tourism industry will have impact on all of us. And I am the tourism major student here to inform you about it. The topic: According to Jakarta Post, ASEAN is known as the 'Perfect 10 paradise with 600 million people (Anjaiah, 2011). ASEAN offers paradise of different cultures, landscapes, cuisines, attractions, heritage and adventures that will move the visitors into the region of surprises. Preview: Abiding by the ATSP or ASEAN Tourism Strategic Plan that all member countries will cooperatively promote the region (ASEAN Tourism Marketing, 2012), there will come many business opportunities for travel industry, which we will look at Cruise ship tourism, Ecotourism and MICE tourism.
Main points:
A) Cruise ship tourism. i. ASEAN have joined hands in developing ports services, cruise infrastructures, immigration and tourists hub (ASEAN secretariat, n.d.). ii. There are over 25,000 islands and over 280 ports in Southeast Asia (World ports by, n.d.). iii. As according to article by ASEAN secretariat, ASEAN collaboration to promote cruising in Asia, 2007, the expected 2 million visitors with be cruising in Asia Pacific with the growth of over 40 percent. iv.
