Brother: A Narrative Fiction
Chili awoke to a ding-dong. Trying to remember where he was he looked at his watch and saw that it was 3:00 AM! His brain was quickly recalled, he was at his house in Boisterous, NC. It was sunny town, filled with joyful people. He got up only to see that his whole family except his brother was dead! Sobbing, Chili went to call 9-1-1 when a man with a Gingerbread boy mask on busted in. The Ginger man was big and tall and could easily knock Chili out with a swing. Chili dodged the Ginger man’s punch and ran to get his Dad’s shotgun. It was a Remington 870 with the barrel sawed off. Chili slammed the door shut and barricaded it with shelves and his parent’s dresser. The Ginger man was aware Chili might do something like this and he came to Chili’s …show more content…
A car stopped and Chili hopped in. Chili told the women to take him to 842 Springfield Drive. It was his uncle's house. She asked Chili why he was in such a panic, but Chili was so scared he could not respond. His uncle's house was the only place that Chili knew the Ginger man wouldn’t think to go. It was in the middle of the woods and was isolated from the rest of the world. He also had a collection of rifles and pistols. Chili thought of it like a safe house. Chili threw himself out of the car. He busted right through the front door only to find his uncle, Jerry, was laying there dead, with a knife sunken into his chest. This psycho had murdered Chili’s whole family! Distorted, Chili heard a bang. He had found Chili! Chili hid in a closet. When the man came to the room he was in Chili silenced his breath. The Ginger man walked right in front of the closet. Leaving Chili completely blinded in the dark. Sluggishly, the Ginger man moved away from the closet. Chili let out his breath. The Ginger man was no dummy; he blew open the closet like a tornado. Quick to react, Chili went through the Ginger man’s legs and down the stairs. The Ginger man was moving right with Chili but Chili grabbed the biggest kitchen knife he could find and hide under the kitchen counter. He looked out the window and saw that the only way of transportation was a bike. Not a great option, but that was good enough for Chili. Chili navigated his way through the kitchen and out the door. He hopped on the bike and peddled away into the

I do think the narrator is a dynamic character because in the beginning and throughout most of the story. “Brother” was only helping Doodle because he didn’t want to be embarrassed at school, and didn’t really want to help him. He also felt some negativity towards Doodle because he has to bring him everywhere he goes. With his disability the narrator thinks he will be made fun of at school. But at the end of the story when the narrator finds Doodle dead in the storm he realizes that he actually loves his brother and they became really close to each other.…

A Brother's Murder is a powerful and good story to read. It lets you know what is really going on in troubled and not so fortunate cities. In the author's opinion, being raised in a bad area is what make young people become involved in crimes and get killed. Also, lack of trying to better themselves. Sometimes if a person don't have too much guidance in their life or just distracted by the life they are living, they will never get the chance to get out of the bad area they are used to.…

The play ‘Blood Brothers’ is written by the playwright Willy Russell, who explores the advantages and disadvantages of growing up in a working-class or a first-class environment in mid 20th century Liverpool. Russell uses his experiences, growing up in working-class Liverpool, to cover how the class system determined your life chances. This is explored through issues of injustice and socialism throughout. ‘Blood Brothers’ is not a typical musical, being of a naturalistic style, but, as Willy Russell described it ‘a play with songs’, which, untraditionally, presents the final scene at the outset of the play. However, it involves traditional musical aspects, such as the use of lyrical and physical elements to tell the story and express emotion, in addition to the importance of music. ‘Blood Brothers’ is brought back to 1960’s Liverpool through the use of scenery, costume, lighting and accent, this being obvious to the audience immediately. I saw ‘Blood Brothers’ on 28th November 2013 at 7:30pm in the Princess Theatre, Torquay, a traditionally laid-out theatre with a proscenium arch and end-on staging.…
