Brief Summary Of Odysseus
In this chapter Odysseus continues his perilous journey home to Ithaca but, after meeting the sorceress Circe, he must now go to the House of Death to consult a prophet. Upon descending into the house of death, Odysseus and his crew come across their former companion, young Elpenor, who is now a ghost after falling off the roof of Circe’s halls. Elpenor demands that the crew prepares his body and gives him a proper burial or else he shall lay a curse on the crew and Odysseus. After heading Elpenor’s warning, the king of Ithaca encounters the Theban prophet, who informs the crafty leader of the curse instilled by Poseidon.
