Hearing about the opportunity to become a student ambassador for High school immediately caught my attention. Being a student ambassador would distinguish me from anyone else throughout my entire school career and teach me new things about being a positive, smart, and respective role in the community.
It’s not all that hard to be a leader. Anyone can do it. Leadership is something anyone can acquire, if they have the passion. Personally, I’m not the first person to raise my hand when the teacher asks for a leader. But when I am chosen as a leader, I try my best to lead my “team” to “win”. I strive to always make my team number one. As a leader I always try to earn the respect of my teammates and always try to respect them back. Not only being a leader in school, but also being a leader in today’s society is a benefit to me because I know that I am helping to have a better future for not only me, but for everyone else.
Doing service is very special to me. I started doing service when I started going to church regularly and when my older sister started to volunteer. I never really thought deeply into who or what would benefit if I had done work for just a couple of hours. But now I realize that doing service for people make their days a little brighter and actually help the community. I’ve done service for my church’s annual winter donations where we set up 2 Christmas trees in the church and decorate them with gloves, mittens, scarves etc. and donate them to those who are in need. Also, I’ve volunteered in the country side of South Korea over the summer. In this part of the countryside mostly elderly people live in, so they are unable to clean the whole neighborhood every day. So my sisters, cousins, kids of the neighborhood and I helped clean the river in the neighborhood that was highly polluted. Doing both of these helped me feel good and gave me that feeling of happiness someone gets after helping others.
Helping others and seeing an honest, warm smile on

Service is one of the things I love to do because I love helping people and volunteering. I volunteer every Sunday for four hours at the Queen of Vietnamese Martyrs Parish where I help kids to learn more about God and at the same time gain spiritual guidance. I help plan and coordinate activities and events for the kids to make their learning as fun as possible as well as making them more enthusiastic to go to Sunday school. I enjoy volunteering because it helps me become more diverse than what I already am and to meet new people.…

They both helped my family through the crisis of leaving my abusive father financially, emotionally, and physically. At the Woman safe house I couldn't help but see the kids and teenager that I was babysitting and see myself in there place and I quickly became that mentor I and help them see past the darkness and into their bright futures. I wanted to give back to the guardian angels for helping us with clothes and food so now I help run their thrift shop and work as the secretary during pantry day. Leadership is not only in a school setting but other professions requiring one or two people to direct others in a beneficial path. Pursuing a degree in administration forced me to reflect on the characteristics I see best fit when leading staff in the correct direction. Leaders are not born overnight, but take time to grow and perfect. Leaders not only are driven to benefit themselves, but also have a force behind them for the benefit of the entire school.…

As long as I can remember service to others was always encouraged by my family and teachers. For example, I helped teachers with the intent of lightening their load of work so they can be able to go home earlier. Things like this make me proud because I am able to help others, and to bring a smile to their faces. My excuse to avoid community service was that I always thought that school was all about homework and getting good grades to be on the top 20 of your class. Truth is I have always overlooked this people thinking they were being lazy for not working, but through this community service I learned that each and everyone around the world is fighting their own battles and we all deal with them the best way we can. I am proud of myself because I went to that community service and learned about this people who I had always stereotyped by their actions, community service has encouraged me to actively listen and learn from others, to walk alongside my neighborhood and to build new…

I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though. I had encountered many situations with the grade 7s in which I would have to improvise and apply my knowledge of leadership to sort out. For example, during one of our games we would play, there was a little boy who was sitting off on the side not participating. I went over to talk to the boy to find out what was wrong. When I found out that he didn't understand how to play the game I knew exactly how to fix it. I brought him over to a corner and me and him played our own little one on one version of the game. I taught him how to play and I played with him until he was finally ready to join the other grade 7s. As well as being a Muskoka Leader, in my grade 11 year, I was a Link Leader for my high school. This was different from being a Muskoka Leader because this time I was working with grade 9 students who were entering high school. Throughout the year I worked with the grade 9s giving them secret tips and tricks about how they could survive their freshman year of high…
