Abortion is a medical procedure which stops a baby from being born. The legalization of abortion has become one of the most controversial topics in recent years. Some people support abortion because they think women have the right to decide whether they want a baby or not. Legalized abortion can make sure the modern abortion procedures are safe. However, some people oppose abortion because they consider abortion is a murder. It takes away innocent life. However, Abortion is not the best option for women. They can give their unborn babies to the women who cannot conceive. According to “Did Abortion Legalization Reduce the Number Of Unwanted Children?”, Bitler states that “The number of adoptions rose from 91,000 in 1957 to 175,000 in 1970, then fell to 130,000 by 1975; the decline of the early 1970s coincided with the legalization of abortion.” The difference between the number of adoptions shows that legalized abortion would reduce the rate of available children for adoption. Today, many couples choose adoption due to their inability to have a child. Even though many of them attempt infertility treatments, the chance of success is very small. Also, not all infertile couples are willing to accept treatment, because the procedure of treatment is suffering. Therefore, they choose adoption. Adoption is another way to have a family. It is not only good for women, but also for unwanted children. Infertile couples get the company of children. Children gain the love in the new family. Adoption is the best of both worlds of solution. Being parents is the best gift for those infertile couples. However, abortion reduces the number of unwanted babies.
