Power, something everyone wants in one form or another. It is known that electricity is crucial for the current way of life to progress and move forward on the path that is currently laid out. One of these means to producing power for society is hydroelectric dams. However, while many individuals can say it is clean power, the real question is it the right power? Not to just think about the cost, resources, land change, population followings the question should follow more to the actual impact to benefits. Most businesses require electricity to turn on the lights and billboard signs to draw in customers for their personal capitol power, cash. Yet, businesses require resources that many rivers bring to any given area. The Amazon is a river that brings much resources to an entire country that supplies the world. China has the Three Georges Dam on their major river. The third major dam is of the DR Congo with easily estimated cost $80 billion. The original projected cost submitted stated that the dam would run 7 billion for that entire time. Yet, with greater business analysis that number was projected to an easy 17 billion with rising cost as the project continues. This is not the first time projects have been started and the cost was greater than the original estimate, and that cost is placed on the country to its citizens driving down wealth and increasing poverty for all. As reported from a study by the WWF-Brazil written in 2007 it projected that by 2020, if Brazil could effectively invest and produce more energy efficiency they could reduce their power needs by 40%. The electricity saved as per cost would be equivalent to 14 Belo Monte hydroelectric
