A Hero for All The book Batman the Dark Night tells a story about the crime fighter the batman and how he comes out of retirement to fight crime again. He does not have to start fighting crime again but after hearing how bad the city has become ridden with crime he makes a decision to come back. The book flashes back to him as a boy when he falls down a hole and is surrounded by bats and is scared out of his mind from this adventure. He then is burdened by watching his mother and father being killed by a robber right in front of him. He becomes a crime fighter and is ruthless in the way he does it. He goes to the extreme when he deals with the criminals like holding a villain upside down off a rooftop to get answers about where the leader of the gang is. He then is chastised by the very own people that he is fighting to protect and by the police commissioner who cannot put an end to the crime without the assistance of the batman. He is forced into an end all battle with the only other crime fighter there is Superman. The batman is a hero when it comes to what he does in the book. My idea of what makes a hero probably different from the next person. Lots of people in the world today look up to sports stars and call them heroes but I have a different outlook on what makes a hero. I think a hero is someone who will do whatever it takes to be the best person that they can be no matter what. A hero is a person who looks out for everyone and anyone with no exceptions to their color, race, and religion. A hero is a person who does the right thing when someone is looking as well as when no one is looking. A hero has to have integrity, honesty, loyalty, and compassion. A hero has to be an example to all that see them. A hero will sacrifice themselves for the benefit of other people. They have to be understanding to the needs of other people. My idea of a hero is a person that will risk their life or even injury to themselves in order to rescue
