Bartholomew's Ordinary World
Bartholomew’s story Ordinary World- Bartholomew lived alone, with no friends and no family. He lived in the slums, where the streets were cold and violence was everywhere. His daily routine was to trudge down to the street corner and beg the rich, who walked by and only ate a few harsh rations a day. One cold and miserable day, Bartholomew was at his usual spot when he heard the rumbling of the nearby patrolling Roman soldiers in the distance. Bartholomew would always get made fun of by the Roman soldiers; that was just his life. They would call him dumb as a rock, or slow as a slug. But today, Bartholomew had had enough. Bartholomew got a rock out of his pocket, and when the soldiers walked past, he launched it at them. Call to adventure/refusal

Bartholomew thrashed like an angry bull to get out of the soldier's hands, but there was nothing she could do, and then he saw an opportunity. There was a split second where one of the soldiers would have to let go of him to turn right. When the opportunity came, Bartholomew ran for his life faster than a speeding cheetah and quicker than a flying thunderbolt, and he was outta there. Bartholomew was hiding in a pitch-black alleyway, in the dark of night. Bartholomew, when the coast was clear, eventually went back to the box where he lived and had to think of what to do because he knew the soldiers would be there waiting at that corner. Early the next morning, when the rooster crows and the sun was just peeking up above the clouds, Bartholomew packed up his things and left for the inner city of Rome. Meeting the mentor, Bartholomew walked through the towns and past shady areas just to get to the inner city. He made a few stops on the way to use all of the money he got from begging to buy him the first full meal he had ever had. The meal was so good that it felt like Barholomew's taste buds were going insane, and the more bites he had, the better he
