Background of the Company
Haigh’s Manufacturing Pty Ltd is oldest family owned chocolate maker in Australia. The organization makings chocolate and confectionary as a traditional small batch maker. In May 1915 Alfred E Haigh opened the first door of Haigh’s Chocolate Store in Adelaide. He was using his own flavor to the industry and in 1917 he started producing chocolate covered fruit centers. Day by day company was booming, expanding with generations. Today the company is ride by 4th generation Haighs, Alister and Simon – joint Managing Directors since 1990 and Jhon Haigh, Chairman of the Board. Now the company has over 500 employees throughout their factory, administration and 14 retail stores located across Adelaide, Sydney and Melbourne.

Sustainable Practices
• Partner with UTZ
UTZ stands for sustainable farming of coffee, Cocoa and Tea. They are giving their support to farmers focus on better farming methods, better working conditions, better care of nature and better care of next generation etc. Haigh’s choose to partner with UTZ because of their strong focus on supporting sustainable farming.

• Using non-genetically modified ingredients.
Most development countries do not consider GMOs to be safe, because they have negative externalities to the natural environment as well as human health. Haigh’s making their chocolate using ingredients from non-genetically modified origins because they are always think about sustainability practices.

• Save water resource
Collect the rainwater that falls on their factory and stored, then used through their steam boiler system. It saves thousands of liters of water per year.
