Avoiding Conflict
Can we learn how to manage and avoid conflict? This is a good question, it raises many answers. I personally have 2. One of them being yes and the other no. To start off, yes we as humans can learn how to manage conflict. Furthermore, no we as humans can not avoid conflict, actually most living things are confronted with conflict at least once in their life times.

Expanding on managing conflict. Yes we can learn how to mange conflict and I personally believe that it should be required. A reason being: people (and I am guilt of doing this) get caught up on petty things. I've gotten angry over small conflicts; sometimes it is because a lot of things added up and I met my 'breaking point', and other times it is because it was something petty and I guess I wanted to make a point.

It is almost impossible to avoid conflict. Two people can be perfect for each other. They can have the same interests, like the same foods, colors, furniture, ect; it does not matter. Eventually they will run into a conflict. It can happen because they pushed/ignored any problems/dilemmas off long enough for them to pile up, or it can happen because of any other idea. But a conflict will arise. A bonus will be the two people being able to handle the conflict calmly and in accord, resulting in the conflict ending for the better.

The book brings up some great ways to handle conflict, but also others that are not so great. A thing to keep in mind with topics such as this is: everyone is different. Thus leading to: different people will need different methods to address the situation. Some people will do better when they are able to leave the room and think by themselves, some people will do better if they can think aloud and process what is happening and so on. A big portion of 'finding the right approach' deals with figuring out how a person (or ourself) is

Conflict between people is a part of life and it is not necessarily a bad thing. I believe a relationship with frequent conflict may be healthier than one that seems to completely perfect or does not have any observable conflict. Conflicts can occur at many different levels of interaction, work, among friends, family members, and intimate relationships. When conflict occurs a relationship can be weakened or strengthened depending on the conflict and its resolution. Thus, conflict is a very critical event in the course of any relationship.
