Atticus Finch Character Analysis
My favorite novel is Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird. I have the upmost respect for Atticus Finch, and he is a character I strive to be because he is respectable, fair, and compassionate. This being said, here are the top 10 ways I am resemble my favorite novel character, Atticus Finch .
1) Atticus Finch answers his children’s questions honestly.
I am a very honest person; however, this does not mean I am intentionally harsh or rude. I do not jump into conservations just to give my opinion, but when asked, I will always share my honest feelings about the situation. In other words, I try my best to tell people what I believe they need to hear rather than what they want to hear.

I do not look at him differently or treat him differently than I do any other cousin of mine. The color of his skin does not define who he is as a person. Jackson is funny, intelligent, and interested in learning about other people’s lives. My uncle is without a doubt the family comedian, so we joke that it is so bizarre that the two are not to be blood related, yet they share the same mannerisms, sense of humor, and gestures. My aunt and uncle could not have picked a better child than Jackson to welcome into our family.
4) He took Tom Robinson’s case knowing he stood no chance of winning.
Atticus Finch took this case knowing it was almost impossible to win. This reveals how Atticus is willing to take risks and put himself out there in order to stand up for what is right. Likewise, I always try to defend those who sometimes struggle to defend themselves, even if that means making myself a target. I have never stood up for someone on the scale that Atticus Finch has, but if I am in a group of people and believe the conversation has the potential to hurt someone emotionally or physically, I can respectfully stand up for what I believe is right even if that means challenging the status …show more content…
First, they share the same physical characteristics. Our country courthouse is the center of the city with both residential and commercial development surrounding it. Also, Princeton is much like Maycomb in that it is very small town and everyone knows everyone. I do not always like this because I find it to be very “keeping up with the Jones,” but it is also nice in the sense that I grew up with a large support system and network of people.
7) Atticus has a daughter named Scout.
In To Kill A Mockingbird, Atticus Finch has a daughter named Scout. My parents, like myself, love Harper Lee’s novel, so they named our yellow lab Scout. We have always had Labrador retrievers, but we recently branched and purchased a golden doodle. Religion is an important aspect of my family’s life, so named decided to name him Rocco after the patron saint of pets.

I try to have the class and dignity of Atticus Finch. I am typically an even-tempered person, so I hate having conflict with anyone. However, when I do, I am able to be diplomatic and resolve the issue without being confrontational. If I need to address a problem, I want a true resolution, so I try to be as kind as possible so we are both are able to come up with a
