Aristophanes Research Paper
The most influential comedy playwright of ancient Greece is Aristophanes. Born in 445 B.C.E, he became a man of great thoughts. Very little is known about his early life. The only piece of information known, is that he was born to a not poor family in Athens. His adolescent life took place during the Periclean Age, which is described by the Encyclopedia of World Biography as, “interlude of peace between 445 and 431, when Athens was one of the two leading political powers in Greece and also the most important center of artistic and intellectual activity” (Aristophanes). Literature was what he focused on during his education, especially poetry. He was well-read in tragedy writers and philosophical theories. He was very successful from the start.
