Women have always been knowing to be the boss of the house. The one that keeps the house organized and prevents chaos from happening. The one who makes the food for breakfast and dinner, the one that make sure everybody in the house is okay. Woman are also known to be house wife and to depend on their husbands. Man used to treat woman like servants and believe woman had no business in doing any kind of work outside the house, for example, running a small business or working with the government. They believe woman were not strong like man. The generation has change over the time and woman are becoming more independent and proven they are more than just “house wife”. People have asked many times, “should woman be drafted?”. In my opinion, I believe a woman should not be force to go to war, but if a woman wants to go to war than let her. …show more content…
I understand that the drafts exist to protect our country and protect our rights but woman should not be force to do something they do not want to. A person’s own life is something valuable and should not be taken for granted. When a person is force to do something, the majority of the time, nothing good happens. The human mind would not be able to focus and will soon start to illusion things that do not exist. Instead of increasing the military and making it stronger, it will actually weaken the military. In the future, if women are draft, I would not be able to handle my own daughter force to go to war. I would not be able to go to sleep peacefully knowing my daughter is doing something she does not want to do. My daughter will be force to kill people; she does not want to kill. I understand, the point of going to war is to protect the citizen of the country and stop the enemies from destroying our country. If my daughter goes to war it’s because she wanted to, not because she was force

Women have been allowed to have many jobs but should they be allowed to go to war? According to Rebecca Zissou on the Women Warriors article, a publication that talks about women combatants. “they aren't allowed to compete for a spot in the regiment because they are women”. This, of course, should be an issue when it comes down to these situations. The women should be treated the same way as a man. When it comes to these situations women are not treated equally as men, when that shouldn't happen for one reason. The reason is that women have the same rights as men. Women should be able to apply themselves to any job/career they want. Why remove those rights when it comes to women warriors?…

Have you ever taken the time to think about how you feel about the draft? Do you feel it is the government’s right to tell you to serve in the military? In times of war there is always the possibility of a draft. Drafting for military purpose has dated back to the Thirteen Colonies and could still be used today. Although it has been in existence for a very long time the draft has been used in 5 major wars: the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War and again for the Vietnam War.…

Before the war, women were cast as the “homemaker”, and their principal duty was to bear children and to narrow their endeavors to areas pertaining to home life. However, when the United States joined the Allies and entered the battlefield in 1941, roughly 16 million men were forced to vacate their jobs at home and enlist in military service. My first reason that we should not have drafts is that it violates human rights. We have the right to serve and if we don't want to then we simply don't have to. If we where to have a draft then you would be forced to serve even if you don't want to. Drafts take away are freedom to…

The controversy surrounding the military draft has since its inception to its repeal in the nineteen-seventies; however the vitality of the draft remains because United States may need more than a volunteer army, it requires everyone to serve, and higher trained and educated people are needed to run new technology. The first reason is the military may need more than a volunteer army to defend the nation in a national emergency. In the U.S. constitution the government has the right the raise and maintains an army as long as the conflict is still going on. The draft was then repealed but is still in effect. The last reason the U.S. may need more than a volunteer army is because the United States may need it to maintain the security of the nation. The second reason the United States needs the draft is because everyone needs to serve their country. Every male eighteen to twenty-six must register for the draft because it is still a law even since it was repealed. It offers a lot of benefits to those who comply to the laws if the draft is used. There are very severe penalties for not registering at age eighteen. This may be considered not a draft even though they must register at eighteen. Not all American males will be drafted for many different reasons. Would the new draft require women to register also? The third reason…

If any of you have a family member in the US Army or the Navy, I'm sure you're very proud of them, protecting and serving this nation we call home. I wonder who has a family member that has a woman in the Army or war. But I guess that that's a problem. A lot of people would argue against women in combat. Women should be allowed in combat because men and women are equal as is everyone else, they have the right to serve and protect our nation just as much as men do, and any woman is capable to do so.…

Is this fair when we have equal opportunity for all?” this will never be a yes or no question because half agree and the other half is against it. One person said not all women are physically or mentally up for the job. As stated earlier that is a huge factor but are all men physically or mentally up for the job? No, we are stuck in the mindset that men are supposed to still protect us at the cost of their own life whenever there is a problem. That was then this is now women need to be prepared because one day they are not going to have another choice and the United States will never go down without a fight. So if it means drafting women next it will be done. Women are not too fragile we do a lot more than just chores and taking care of kids. When a man gets drafted and he has a wife and kids, the kids still lose their father the wife still loses her husband. Now switch it around a women has a husband and kids, if the women gets drafted does the husband not lose a wife and do the kids not lose their mother? No matter what if it came down to us needing to draft people into the military a mother, father, aunt, uncle, cousin, son or daughter someone will be lost. Women in Combat

Speaking from a woman who is in the military I’m going to elaborate on why I think that women shouldn’t serve in combat positions. It’s scientifically proven that women doesn’t physically perform at the same level as men. For an example, the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT) is broken down into two categories’, women and men and in which they have different age groups in which women are held to a lower standards than men. The APFT have different requirements when you turn a certain age meaning your body can’t handle as much as it did when you were younger. Same thing with women and men you can’t hold them to the same standard when their body is constructed differently. Physically a woman skeletal system is less dense and prone to have more breakages than a man. Psychological concerns are that women would be place on the front line and then get pregnant to escape from combat. Another reason I think women shouldn’t go into some combat positions such as sniper school is because you have to be aware that they camp out for days, but a woman can’t do that especially if they are on their menstrual cycle. We as women have to realize is that we can’t do everything as men.…

The draft would be a good way to divide the burden of war so it doesn’t solely affect the people who really want to aid their country. When people feel like the draft is unconstitutional, the draft doesn’t deprive them rights, rather than giving them the right to “defend their country”.(Say Registration or Draft Not Needed 1979) Many people believe that war is bad, and I can agree, but being drafted doesn’t necessarily mean going immediately to war, you could be drafted in a time of no major conflicts and assist in a safe yet vital role in the military as a doctor, nurse or something as simple as a cook to be able to prepare food for hungry troops. For those that volunteer rather than being drafted, carry all the burden on their shoulders while…

One hundred years have passed, and women have marched forward, quite literally. Women have progressed from being strictly wives and teachers to soldiers on the front line; therefore, they should be treated the same as men. Not only are women capable of fighting beside a man in the military now, but they are also great at many other positions in the military such as nurses and pilots. Girls being included in the selective services would increase the size and power of the US army when the time came. Women have most of the same rights as men do living in the United States. Women should not be excluded from the draft because men think women are not equal. Women have the same freedom as men, therefore women should have to fight for it like men as…

There are many advantages to women being in the draft. Including women helping the United States have better armed forces. During the Vietnam War the draft became very unpopular and was disbanded in 1973 (Barno). With the military being at an all time low of 0.4% of the population. That comes out to about 1,300,000 military members. The United States may be considered to have one of the best militaries in the world. Having women sign up for the draft can help recruit and keep the best qualified military individuals. The military in 2015 opened all jobs to women and many people believe they have already shown their worth. In 2016 women have served on submarines, graduated Army’s elite Ranger school, finish Marine Corps training and Lori Robinson has become the first…

All men are created equal; this includes women as well. Over a decade of years, women certainly have come a long way to gain the same kind of equal equality as men, such as being able to vote and being able to join the armed forces and fight alongside men. As growing up I was always told that playing dolls is a girl’s toy and playing a car is a boy’s toy. In my cultural, I was taught that girl couldn’t work in a male job, and I was taught to do housework while the men did nothing around the house. In my house/culture, the men are the provider while the women in my opinion are the servant in which caters to every male in the household. If people were to think about combat in the army many just picture a male behind the military ACU (advanced…

War has been a controversial topic for its entire existence. Warfare is as old as humans themselves; for as long as history has been recorded, there is evidence of war. War seems to be the major way conflict is resolved, although this resolution does not come without consequences. The question is, who should have to die for the conflict to be resolved. A particularly controversial topic in war is the draft. The military draft is the forced, random selection of a people to fight in war. The United States has used the military draft in the country’s history, but the US has never drafted females. Although some individuals believe women do not have the same physical abilities as men, there should be a draft in the United States which includes women,…
