Argumentative Essay: Should The United States Use Nuclear Weapons?
Nuclear weapons were introduced to the Asian continent in 1945, by the United States. The United States succeeded in nuclear weapon development all thanks to the Manhattan Project team. Thus the United States developing its nuclear weaponry, the fears of the Soviet Union amplified and many other powers joined the nuclear arms race. President Truman at the time, approved the August 6, 1945 bombing of Hiroshima. Since the bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima took place, more Asian nations have gone on to gain nuclear weapons. There are six countries in Asia that have nuclear weapons, this is including Russia. The city was absolutely demolished by the “Little Boy” bomb. With all the radiation blast, between 90,000 and 140,000 lives were lost.

The effects of such led many humans to have doubts with the use of these weapons. In the end, if atomic weapons had not been used, it would have been seen as corrupt. There are many arguments regarding the use of these weapons.
Should the United States have dropped the atomic bombs? Many have different views towards this debate, but to me, I think it was a good idea for the U.S. dropping the bombs they did, it served a good purpose. The Japanese bombed us at Pearl Harbor, and that could not be left alone. I feel that the bombs saved an unquestionably amount of human lives. Even if it wasn’t sounding like it did, the numbers showed it.
I feel the use of atomic weapons are needed, but they are dangerous when they enter into the wrong hands. I have asked several people what they feel about atomic weapons in the U.S. Asking my mother, she said: “I feel atomic weapons are good. They made Japan surrender, and helped end WWII.”. I also asked my roommate, and her response was: “Atomic weapons serve a good purpose, especially when it comes to bad situations regarding our country. They keep us safe, and show power.”. As I asked several friends and family, I got pretty much the same
