The author included numerous rhetorical strategies to reinforce his rather shocking stance that Americans love their guns and that those guns are here to stay. The authors use of visual descriptions, incidents, and statistics were all appropriate examples used to establish and display the ideas effectively. The composition of the article flows really well, a lot of information is presented but also condensed, mentioning only what is vital to the argument. The author is direct and to the point and the author does not deviate from the main argument, constantly coming back and endorsing his/her opinion. The author mentions, “many Americans have already come to the remarkable conclusion that the best route to a safer America is a better-armed America,” (“Leaders: America and Guns”). The author is constantly on point with his/her information. These statements are so stark and bold; they definitely resonate with the audience. An abundance of research and emotionally charged writing made this article a solid and convincing piece for…

Hillary Clinton seems to be the best option for this years presidential election. She has the most political experience then everybody in the presidential election. One of these reasons is that Clinton is pro for that schools should be a gun free zones (Procon.org 1 pt. 33). It would not be a good idea to bring a gun to school grounds for many reasons like the fact these little kids are exposed to these murderous weapons that could take a life in a second. Kids should not be exposed to these things.…

Pro gun control advocates are saying it is necessary for three reasons of many: high capacity magazines, suicide rates, and active gun laws having loopholes. Anti-gun control advocates are saying it is not necessary because of the decrease in homicide, mental state of murderers, and the right to self defense. Citizens are not just taking sides too, so are presidential candidates. Democratic candidate, Hillary Clinton is for pro- gun control, and Donald Trump, a Republican candidate, is for anti-gun control.…

All in all, it is not a good choice for American society at the present stage to ban gun. From the constitutional view, Gun Ban is contrary to the constitution of human rights and protection spirit; from the political view, it will increase the risk of tyranny; from the economic view, it will lead criminal squares to become one of the guns of the monopolist; from the social reality view, it leads to the lack of citizen means of self-defense; finally, from social culture view, it does not conform to the American culture tradition and social psychology. I think the key to the problem of gun crime is not the gun itself, but the deep problems of the society, such as poverty, social life and so on. I think gun control is just a…

In the United States, every day, over 300 people are shot in murders, assaults, suicides or suicide attempts, unintentional shootings, and police intervention. Every day, 90 of those victims are killed. Over the past 10 years, the number of shootings, particularly of unarmed black men by police, has skyrocketed, according to USA Today’s shooting investigation chart. Our country has done close to nothing to stop the tragic events. Hillary Clinton will be the one who changes that. She has detailed plans on how she wants to end gun violence, by enforcing criminal background checks and no-fly list checks in order to purchase guns. I agree with her views on stepping in, and lowering the amounts of shootings.…

Gun control advocates focus on the serious negative effects on gun availability on safety, while gun ownership advocates emphasize the lawful use of guns and their place in our history and culture. While our history and culture is important we need to address the current national problem in order to live in a safe enough society. In an effort to stabilize and decrease firearm related injuries and deaths in the U.S. a strong federal law to control guns is needed. In the bigger picture, we people will see the United States, as a Nation, as a better safer place to live in and not to die…

With heated debates and arguments about gun control, politicians are forced into “trying” to find a solution. Gun control is a popular subject though does have slow process process in America. Twice in the past two years the gun issue has reached the nation’s highest court. In the 2008 Supreme Court case District of Columbia v. Heller the court ruled that the Constitution protects an individual’s right to own a gun for personal use. But the decision only applied to federal laws and failed to address local and state laws. Thus, in July 2010 the Supreme Court ruled that the federal right to bear arms also applies at the state and local level. The ruling lifted a nearly 30-year-old Chicago gun ban. Obama calls for a “Sense of Urgency” to fight gun violence in a video recorded by “CNN”. Obama advocates for a better and improved ways to distribute guns such as creating more or hiring more people to do background checks. Obama having a Democratic viewpoint, respects the 2nd amendment but wants to bend it to what he believes will decrease violence. On the hand republicans believe the Second Amendment guarantees an individual's right to gun ownership and that government efforts at regulation were unconstitutional. Ownership of guns should be up to the people and not by the government. These two viewpoints besides abolishing the 2nd amendment is what separates American citizens attitudes toward gun control. In…

    Should Gun Laws Be Strict

For example, in 2014, there were approximately 2,549 children who died from a gunshot, and 13,576 children who were injured (Gun Violence: Facts and Statistics, 2017). The more guns there are that are lying around homes, the more likely there’s going to be an accident resulting in death, or injury. Guns need to be kept under control to prevent these things. The last reason that there should be stricter gun laws is that right now, people have too easy of access to guns, when they really don’t need them in the first place. There are too many people who have guns just because they can, and most of those guns are lying around the house where almost anyone could get ahold of them (Bush, 2015). It is important to limit their access to guns so we can prevent these things from happening. In order for a U.S citizen to drive a car, they must pass a test proving they are capable of driving a vehicle safely. If they don’t pass the test, they are not able to drive a car. The same should go for guns. People should have to prove that they are going to be safe and responsible with a gun; guns shouldn’t just be handed over (Bush,…

I feel the second amendment should stay in tact. I like every other american should be able to have guns. I understand there will probably be a compromise with gun skeptics and gun advocates. As long as we somewhat meet in the middle the people should be happy with the exchange. I like Donald Trump for his stance on guns. He wants to tighten his rules on guns, but at the same time make it possible for basically everyone to have a gun.…

One of the most debatable topics in the United States is the availability of guns. The debate on the topic of gun laws focuses on those who believe that owning guns is a Constitutional right while others believe that owning guns is a leading cause of much of the violence within the United States. However, there is a balance between the two debates that will lead to a better conclusion to the topic. Making guns illegal will only lead to criminals possessing illegal firearms while the law abiding citizens will be faced with the threat of criminals with firearms while they have no source of protection. At the same time, the current laws do not require every state to follow laws that would allow for the government to ensure that the firearms do not legally fall into the hands of criminals or those not responsible to own firearms.…
