Are people basically bad with good tendencies?
Ivan Samchuk, period 5
Are people basically bad with good tendencies?
Essentially though human beings (people) are flawed that makes them also prone to have the darker side making them err due to the significant things and matters that could influence development in all aspects and the survival in life. Basically people are bad with good tendencies, because of a few reasons.
The first reason is that people are selfish. All selfish people display a very uncaring attitude and a strong “Me first” trait. The extremely selfish person will not hesitate to depict other people in dark colors in order to present his personal picture in a bright shade by way of contrast. This is one facet of selfishness. Selfish people begin to ignore the rights of others. In other words people become very in considerate of their fellow-beings. Folks try to make their own life happy and comfortable one.
The second reason is that people are aggressive. Aggression comes in many forms including physical violence, sexual abuse, yelling and mental abuse. There are many factors that contribute to the amount of aggressiveness that people have and the ways that they act on them. Everyone human on earth has aggression already in his or her biology. Some people have more than others do and some act on theirs more, but everyone has it.
Humans are social animals and it benefits the community as a whole for individuals to cooperate and not harm other members of the society in any way. We learn well from bad as a child and are instructed to "be good". People can choose to be bad; ignoring their consciences and even the punishments they know could await them. Some people suffer from mental conditions such as psychosis and become "programmed" as bad individuals. The craving for drugs also plays a part in criminal behavior.

    Evil a Learned Behavior

Humans are fundamentally good, and then are corrupted by their environment. It's because of evolutionary purposes. Every organism wants their species to continue (if they don't, they die off and aren't here any more). The same goes for us. If our species started off fundamentally evil, none of us would be here right now. People would've killed each other off instead of working together in communities to survive. It's the same as any other species that has made it this far. All characters, wherever they come from, may not be born evil, but they live up to this evil behavior eventually. According to Freudian theory, violence is a basic human instinct, described as a redirection of our self-destructive impulses…

Human beings are born to be evil. They come naturally to the face of violence and brutality, and this belief was held by numerous throughout many a time. One namely is William Golding; the author of the well renowned novel The Lord of the Flies; and he expressed it well in his work. That everyone, if the situation calls for it, has the ability to commit horrific atrocities. And then there are those that made their own beliefs known; that everyone is naturally good until pushed otherwise, which itself was demonstrated by a Jean Jacques Rousseau during the Enlightenment. This argument is otherwise known as nature versus nurture. But that will be investigated later on. For now, the reasons for the instinctual persona of everybody to do bad.…

However, if not everyone was an evil person, then it presents a bright side of life. Life does have a meaning; life does have passion and pleasure presented in it. By that time, an evil person is a person that doesn’t have a personality; he hurts other people, he steals, he cheats, and he kills; all because he has no resistance against doing wrongful affairs. That person is weak. If not everyone is evil, then this shows that there are well-mannered decent people in our lives.…

I have to say that people are not inherently good, and this goes back to what we have being discussing in this week’s class regarding the fall and the original sin. When Adam and Eve made the decision to disobeyed God, and become gods themselves “For God knows that on the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil” (Genesis 3:5 KJV). Their decision had affected not only them but the rest of humanity. However, we cannot just go around and do bad things and say “I did this bad thing and is Adam’s and Eve’s fault” No, we must take responsibility for the bad choices we make. I understand that peoples backgrounds, they’re up-bringing can influence in their decision making. But I also know that…

The debate on nature and nurture occurrence of aggression had been going on for centuries. Psychologist had not found any strong evidence supporting either one of the approach. Looking deeply into aggression, we can say that there are 2 main types of aggression, which are instrumental and hostile aggression (Peter Mitchell & Fenja Ziegler, 2013). Instrumental aggression is referring to someone acting aggressively to achieve a certain goal. Children fighting for a toy is an example of instrumental aggression. Whereas, if an individual act aggressively just to release his or her frustration, we can say that hostile aggression is expressed. One simple example of hostile…

These are all questions that researchers have been addressing for many years. Some scientists try to treat the abnormal aggressive behavior with medication, while others go deeper and try to find out why they have abnormal behavior. Some answers are biological, like genes and hormones, other answers are psychological, like rejection as a cause of aggression, and still others are cultural, blaming aggression on violence in the media. In order to try to understand where aggression may arise from, you must understand how aggression is defined as well as the possibilities that may cause it.…

Are Human Good or Evil? Are they good or are they evil? All people are born selfish and will only seek their own interest and that this selfishness often leads to violence and war. I thought that one supreme ruler should rule all people in order to prevent ruckus. On the other hand I believe that the natural state of humans was one of peace and harmony. I thought that democracy was a reflection of our basic needs and that it was the only way to have fairness and equality. As I look into society today, I see many types of people. There are people from many ethnic cultures with different religions, and beliefs. Society today is very diverse, and that is why I truly cannot believe that people are either good or evil, because people have both of these traits.…

Consequently, this quote explains why people become evil. There are many reasons that will be answered in this paper. Children who experience hardships at a young age will most likely be exposed to the behavior of a maniac, or a psychopath depending on the extremity. They feel that they cannot trust anyone and also believe others deserve to undergo their pain. Making others suffer the same treatment they received can also give them a sense of relief because of the anger they have built towards a certain conflict. Someone in this…

    Humans Are Naturally Evil

    • 451 Words
    • 2 Pages

People are generally evil. When humans are children, they want all the attention and affection without having to share it. When they see their mother carrying another child, whether that child is a sibling or a complete stranger, most children will stop what they're doing and run over and start crying until they are lifted up and shown the attention that the other child had. Humans show signs of envy, jealousy and selfishness, starting at very early stages in their lives, sometimes before they are taught to talk or walk. It isn't until those children grow into toddlers or sometimes even older, that they are taught to be good. They are taught that it isn't okay to abuse or steal. They're taught to always say “please” and “thank you” and that when they see someone in need, they should help them. When in school, children are taught to play nice, they are taught patience, just because it is a virtue, that doesn't mean humans are born with it. If humans were naturally good, there would be no war, no genocide, no murderers. The world would be a peaceful place. However, as advertised on all newspapers; war, genocide, murder, and other acts of selfishness surround the world, if not consume it. There are people who know nothing but war, they aren't familiar with a world without death or explosions. Humans aren't taught to kill, it's per-programed into their minds, there isn't someone or something that “teaches” them to kill, they just know. Another example is how humans love to see others in pain, they don't like it when someone is doing better than them, that's why there are bullies in the world. Humans are naturally envious, jealous and manipulative. There are hundreds of television shows that are nothing but 30minutes of watching people falling and getting hit in the face. Humans find other humans peoples' pain…

Human nature is not exactly perfect to say the least, so it cannot be exclusively good or evil. A reason for this is because certain situations may bring out the good or bad in people. For example, you may be having a great day, spreading positivity and goodness out to the world and then all of a sudden someone does something such as cutting you off while you are driving. This specific situation may bring out the evil in you and you could possibly chase the driver down,…
