Describe your selected organization, including the organization’s philosophy, mission, vision, values, and structure. In 1976, Apple Incorporated was formed and operated in Cupertino, California. The founders of Apple Inc. were Steven Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Gerald Wayne. Apple Inc. designed Macintosh computers, mobile cellular devices such as the iPhone, multi media devices such as the iPad, iPod music players, and sells a host of software such as the Mac OS and iOS operating systems. Apple Inc. operates third party content such as retail stores, online sites such as ITunes for downloading digital music. The Apple Inc. sells a series of printers, devices for storage of information, headphones, and accessories in its retail stores. The Apple Inc. is global and has operations not only in North and South America but also Europe and Asia. The vision statement of the organization states, "Man is the creator of change in this world. As such he should be above systems and structures, and not subordinate to them" (Authorstream.com, 2011). Apple’s vision is geared more toward ensuring that individuals and organizations master the tasks of customer interaction, strategic planning to fulfill objectives, and to assist in the financial and operational structure of an organization. Through the corporate philosophy of play hard, work hard, Apple Inc.’s mission statement “is committed to bringing the best personal computing experience to students, educators, creative professionals and consumers around the world through its innovative hardware, software and internet offerings” (Lewis, 2012, Para. 1). The organizational structure consisted of a non-traditional atmosphere of team and department divisions. Apple Inc. is very informal, yet the Chief Executive Officer maintains operational control and order.
