Animals Should Not Be Used in Scientific Research
Who is the first one in drinking a new type of coke or PepsiCo? Who is the first one in taking a tablet of aspirin? Who is the first one in using shampoos? Did you know all these things? The one I’m referring to is the animal—cat, rabbit, rat and so on which are widely and cruelly used in various kinds of scientific researches, and millions of them die every year. Every life created by god is equal. Bearing that in mind, a huge amount of people have been no-animal-testing users. They strongly propose that animals shall not be used in scientific researches.

Experiment animals are protective walls of human beings’ health. They are routinely cut open, poisoned and then caged in for weeks, months or even years. Some animals are often given diseases to see whether a new drug will work or whether it has side effects. Some animals are killed by researchers in order to see the degree of damage inside their bodies. And we can often see that baby cats or rabbits being separated from their mothers on TV too. This is not moral. Things can be made clearer by turning it round. If there is a day when all these animals become masters of this planet, and we human beings become “slaves”—the scientific research targets. What would we think about? It is reported that there are 3million animals die annually in scientific researches in UK. The number is about 115 million in America. Statistics show that an animal dies for scientific researches every three seconds. However, the exact number of animals killed in the researches every year is unknown, for researchers or governments never care about these dead, not to mention counting the numbers.

But why don’t governments do something about this? The answer is simple: money. From animal breeders to companies, from companies to researchers, from researchers to governments, from governments to companies, animals used in experiment have already become an industry wearing a shining golden coat. Each player benefits a lot. And every single

95% of animals used in experiments are not protected from the Animal Welfare Act. This states that animals can be experimented on only under certain circumstances, so that they won’t be abused or mistreated. Scientists didn’t follow the circumstances ,so this led to animals not being protected and mistreated. For example scientist inject drugs into an animal against their will. Also animals are not in their normal habitat, they are usually in a cage which stresses them out. To conclude animals are not protected and are not treated fairly by…

Scientists are constantly looking for new medical advances that they hope will save people’s lives and often turn to animals as the optimal resource for testing new ideas and products. These animals range from rats and mice to dogs and monkeys. On top of varying animals, the tests they run fluctuate from simply checking the effectiveness of a medicine already in use to testing an entirely new form of treatment. However, there have beens years of controversy over the morality of using animals as the test subjects.…

Animal testing, also known as animal experimentation, or in vivo testing, often uses non-human animals in experiments to test the safety of products and has been a topic of heated debate for decades. Although some research uses animals only for natural behaviors observation, F. Barbara Orlans claimed in her book, In the Name of Science: Issues in Responsible Animal Experimentation, that more than sixty percent of all animals used in animal testing suffer from experiment procedure or even get killed in biomedical research and product-safety testing. On the one hand, successful animal testing can lead to medical cures and treatments for human beings, on the other hand, opponents are doubting the reliability of animal…

For many years, the debate of whether animals have moral rights or not has been thrown around court rooms, social media, and protests. Arguments are made defending animals and suggesting that they should be protected and recognized in human society. Medical researchers are scrutinized and harassed by these supporters for their part in animal testing and medical investigation. Scientific breakthroughs have been made, which has transformed the development of modern medicine. Lifespans have elongated and lives are being saved in every corner of the world, yet somehow, this is still debated as if it is the wrong thing to do. Research animals are pertinent tools of the medical world and humans are entitled to use them as such. As human beings with…

Animal research is a very popular topic of debate. The start of animal testing started in the seventeenth century in the United Kingdom (Murnaghan, Ian). About 26 million animals are used in the United States for scientific research (Should Animals Be Used for Scientific or Commercial Testing). As more companies started in the 1900’s, the number of animals being used for research rapidly went up (Murnaghan).…

Animal experimentation saves lives and makes vaccines for diseases. But, millions of animals die for experimentation and it doesn’t work every time, even people die because of false information. Animals are important in their habitats and kingdoms. If people take them, then they can't do their jobs. Animal experimentation is not needed for us because of how many animals die for it and how many false procedures there are that also kill people.…

The vast majority of researchers take much responsibility caring for the animals they use and conduct their experiments humanely and with great sensitivity. They insure that animals don 't suffer needlessly and take good care of them. For example, in many research facilities, most animals that undergo surgery are given anesthesia first so they will be "asleep" during the surgery. The researchers are governed by more strict rules and regulations than any other profession that uses animals. Their practices are continually reviewed by local, state, and federal agencies. The approval process for animal experimentation is very thorough and is designed to insure the use of the fewest…

Animal Experimentation by Peggy J. Parks describes advantages and disadvantages of animal research. This book explains one of the major social justice issue that is becoming controversial these days: Animal Rights. Scientists are trying to find new vaccines and medical products, but you cannot test them on humans right away. We cannot risk human’s life, but can we risk animal’s life? In 2005, the USDA reported that 1,177,566 animals were used in the laboratory, excluding mice, rats, birds, fish, etc. The scientists mostly failed to make new discovery, and even if they did, it was not effective because humans and animals are very different. Animals are also used in education, but some students and parents consider dissection of animals as teaching…

    Animal Testing Is Wrong

Animal experimentation is not only cruel, but expensive as well. Thankfully, there are accurate, cheaper and quicker alternatives. First, there are the In vitro tests which are used to diagnose disease or health of patients using the patient's blood sample or body tissue. Another is microdosing, where humans are given low quantities of a product to test the effects on the body, without affecting the whole body system. There are also many computerized patient-drug databases, virtual drug trials, and stem cell and genetic testing methods. The United States alone spends about $16 billion dollars every year, coming from taxpayers, for animal experimentation. Just think about how much money the US could save if it abolished animal testing as a whole. The US has been in debt and in a depression for years, yet it continues to throw money down the toilet just to torture and kill animals. Animals are NOT the only way to test…

An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States for scientific and commercial testing. Animals are used to develop medical treatments, determine the toxicity of medications, and check the safety of products destined for human use. Animals that are used to test medical treatments or other scientific tests most of the time don’t survive, for every hundred medications tested, 92% of them fail, and 50% of the animals that got tested die, those that don't die are later killed(92/100 animals ...."Top Five Reasons to Stop Animal Testing). The majority of animals that go through the trials used in research are killed during or after these trials. Many animals suffer during the studies; the lives of animals are routinely sacrificed with sometimes have no gain in research. “Animals do not have the cognitive ability or moral judgment that humans do and because of this they have been treated differently than humans by nearly every culture throughout recorded history. If we granted animals rights, all humans would have to become vegetarians, and hunting would need to be outlawed.” (Machan). Machan clearly has a great expert opinion on the view about animals having no rights. It is true that animals sometimes die during experimentation, but researchers and scientists have to learn by trial and error. Not every single experiment conducted can have a positive or health breaking effect. You have to test every time with every possible angle because you learn more from your errors.…

Everyone knows the difference between right and wrong , and some of the wrong brings good outcomes .Debating between getting new products that are beneficial for our health ,and fighting against the use of animals to get the products that everyone at the end will use. Animal experimentation is wrong because it has a lot of facts animals have rights no matter what kind of animal is ,in laboratories they’re treated badly and used more than once by different products. Scientist and studies have proved that animals live in constant distress and pain and that more than 1,000 thousand of animals died for each…
