Do you want to see animals abused and killed sometimes for nothing? Animal testing is flawed and can produce very unreliable results. Around 26 million animals are used every year for scientific and commercial testing. These animals are used to determine the toxicity and effectiveness of medications before they test it on humans. Therefore animal testing should be banned.…
An estimated 26 million animals are used every year in the United States fir various types of testing. These animals are used for scientific and commercial testing to develop medical treatments, determine toxicity of medications and chemicals, check the safety of products destined for human use and other biomedical or healthcare purposes. This testing on animals is cruel, inhumane and should be banned. It should be banned because the animals are held and live in inhumane conditions, it is harmful and at times lethal to the animals and there are other research method available that do not require animal testing.…
The first reason why we shouldn’t have animal testing is because animals are getting hurt or abused. “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.” The chemicals that the people are using are burning or other worse things to them. The chemicals that they use on the animals could hurt or kill them. Over half of side effects cannot be detected in…
Every year millions of animals are subjected to horrible unethical experimentations in order to advance medical science. Dogs, cats, monkeys, mice, and other animals are kept in dark rooms in cages while being exposed to various toxic and poisonous substances daily in order to test how the substance may react in humans. These poor creatures suffer from inhumane treatments and are denied any form of happiness, and these experiments should cease and alternatives should be used instead. Animal testing is a cruel and ineffective medical practice that produces unreliable results and those laboratories should use safer alternatives that will provide more accurate results.…
Why would somebody want to abuse or hurt animals for no reason? Animals are locked up, tortured, and killed all over the world due to chemical experiments for products. Animal testing should be banned because it endangers animals and does not serve a legitimate purpose in society.…
Animal testing has lead to the deaths of animals in horrible ways and is very inhumane, with modern technology we shouldn’t have to resort to such awful actions and we don’t need to there are many alternatives to animal testing and the alternatives can be cheaper and more accurate.…
How would you feel getting chemicals dropped into your eyes and on your skin, being confined into a small cell waiting to be tortured? Now why is it fair to do this to animals? There are so many reasons why animals should not be used for scientific research. Animal testing is unethical, and completely immoral. Not to mention it is unnecessary and there are many newly developed options that avoid animal cruelty. Additionally, animal testing has been proven to be ineffective and inaccurate.…
In animal testing, countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use is up. Some are injured and will still live the remainder of their life in captivity. The doctors will not do anything to help the animals that are in pain that happen to be the reason because of them. It is the aspect of animals testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain because no direct benefit to humans occurred. Even though animals and humans have many things in common like how we both have the same organ system, there are also many things that are different between animals and humans. Many animals cannot handle or take the same medication as humans, most the surgeries that are operated on animals are just too strong for an animal to take so they end up dying or sick for the rest of their lives. (Animal Testing…
There are a lot of bad things that happen in this world and Animal Testing is one of them. Doctors,Scientists and other people test on these animals everyday. In my opinion there should be no animal testing at all. It is cruel. Right now there are millions of animals sitting in cold cages waiting for their next painful procedure. The stress, sterility and boredom causes them to develop neurotic behaviors such as, biting themselves and running around in circles. Most of these animals are killed after the testing because there is no possible way for them to live after this has happened. More than 100 million animals suffer this torture. Exact numbers have not been found, in rats, mice, birds, and cold blooded animals take up about 90 percent.…
Animal testing is a very disagreeable process that should not be allowed. Animals should be treated with the same respect as humans. Animals have feelings and organs and bodies just like us. They feel every bit of pain they endure. Why should these innocent animals be tested its unethical, wasteful, and they have rights just like humans.…
One more reason I am against the use of animals for product testing is because of the cost of it. Animal testing generally costs an enormous amount of money, as the animals must be fed, housed, cared for and treated with drugs or a similar experimental substance. On top of that, animal testing may occur more than once and over the course of months, which means that additional costs are acquired. The price of animals themselves must also be factored into the equation. There are companies who breed animals specifically for testing and animals can be purchased through them.…
For my research argument essay, I researched animal testing for scientific research. This topic has definitely created controversy with animal rights activists and scientists over the last few decades. At first, my plan was to research specifically cosmetic testing on animals, but after looking at general animal research, I decided to look into using animals for scientific research. My purpose was to convince scientists that supported animal testing, and were unaware of other methods, that there were better ways to do scientific research.…
Every year, millions of defenseless animals are poisoned, blinded and killed in animal testing. You may believe that animal testing is for a good cause, but the pain that these animals are put through isn’t worth a new brand of toothpaste, shampoo or lip gloss. Rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and other animals are forced to swallow huge amounts of a test substance, enduring the pain of a chemical eating away at their sensitive eyes and skin. Is another hairspray or toilet cleaner really necessary? These animals are infected with diseases- mice growing tumors as large as themselves, rabbits are purposely blinded, and rats are made…
In animal testing, many animals are experimented on and then killed after their use. Others are injured and will still live the rest of their lives in pain. The unfortunate aspect is that many of these animals received tests for substances that will never actually see approval or…
To begin with, animal testing should be illegal because testing produces negative effects on the animals. When locked up these animals suffer a tremendous amount of stress. The stress that most animal encounter in labs can affect the way experiments work, making the results meaningless. If under stress, they can have permanently raised concentrations of stress hormones, reduced concentrations of sex hormones, and compromised immune systems. These are variables that are uncontrolled and make the animals unsuitable for scientific research. Even though penicillin has been proven to save many human lives it kills cats and guinea pigs. Many people agree that “Many experiments are not painful to animals and are therefore justified.” (P.E.T.A. NP) The Animal Welfare Act, is the only U.S. law that governs the use of animals in laboratories. This act allows animals to be shocked, burned, isolated, starved, poisoned, forcibly restrained, addicted to drugs, and brain-damaged. (P.E.T.A. NP) No experiment, no matter how painful, is prohibited. Pain killers are not required. There are plenty of alternatives to testing available, but the law does not require that they are used. “A 2009 survey by researchers at Newcastle University found that mice and rats who underwent painful, invasive procedures such as skull surgeries, burn experiments and spinal surgeries were provided with post-procedural pain relief about 20 percent of the time.” (P.E.T.A. NP) Deaths through research are absolutely unnecessary. Therefore it is morally no different from murder. According to the Animal Welfare Report published by the USDA, research facilities are not required to report the number of rats, mice, or birds that are used in laboratories. Ironically, this group of animals represents an estimated 90% of the laboratory animal population. For all we know, all of these…
