Animal Testing Benefits
Throughout history animals have been used to test everyday products and medicine to make sure they are safe for human consumption. The animal’s everyday life consist of torture, sleeping in cold cages, and often sometimes dying from the painful experiments performed on them. At times the animals are harmed so much that the start to show signs of erratic behavior like scratching their eyes out, biting themselves, and go through stages of stress or depression. After all the research is completed the animals are killed and thrown into medical waste. In todays the abuse continues. Numerous amounts of rabbits, rats, mice are being held in science laboratories across the world. Countless number of researchers believe that the only way to verify that …show more content…
Not only humans, but animals also benefit from the use of animal testing. In fact, if animals aren’t used for medical research certain vaccines for rabies, hepatitis and other diseases wouldn’t be curable (Trull). However, many people argue that the human anatomy differs from that of animals. Nonetheless, animals and humans still share common features. For example, monkeys, just like humans, share the same fundamental use of hormones to counteract infections, which has helped scientist improve research (Trull). For the people who doubt animal testing should go to hospitals and look at patients who have survived from illnesses and diseases, because if it had not been for animals lives wouldn’t be …show more content…
For instance more than 90 percent of drugs and products that are approved fail when consumed by humans (Casey). This is because experiments done on animals have no relevance to human life at all. New technology like In Vitro has recently surfaced that could make the use of animals no more.

“We have moved away from studying human disease in humans. We all drank Kool-Aid on that one, me included. The problem is that animal testing hasn’t helped improved, and it’s time we stopped dancing around the problem…We need to refocus and adapt new methodologies for use in humans to understand disease biology in humans”.

Do you ever wonder how beauty products and medical treatment are get the seal of approval for human use? Today many beauty and health manufactures validate their product through animal testing. These poor and defenseless creatures are being held in steel cold cages waiting to be performed on to advance human life. Animal testing should be terminated because the animals live in fear and pain, violates their rights and other methods are available to accurate data for products and

Scientists are constantly looking for new medical advances that they hope will save people’s lives and often turn to animals as the optimal resource for testing new ideas and products. These animals range from rats and mice to dogs and monkeys. On top of varying animals, the tests they run fluctuate from simply checking the effectiveness of a medicine already in use to testing an entirely new form of treatment. However, there have beens years of controversy over the morality of using animals as the test subjects.…

How would you feel if you were captured in a laboratory and forced to smell toxic fumes until death? Or immobilized in a restraining device for hours? Or have your skin burned off and spinal cord crushed? This is the reality for more than 100 million animals worldwide. In Canada, over 3.33 million animals are used in experiments and over 125 000 are subjected to severe pain. The animals are left for days to wait in fear of the next terrifying and traumatic experiment that will be performed on them. Major effects of stress and boredom trigger neurotic behaviors in the animals these include spinning in circles, rocking back and forth, pulling out their own hair and biting their own skin. Days go by, and after being locked in their tiny cages filled with fear, their journey usually ends with death. Animals are said to be used for advances and safety checks in products, but are the tests truly…

Cosmetics, scientific research, cleaning products, drug tests, and other research facilities have used animals as a way to evaluate their products or to discover possible scientific breakthroughs. Statistics show that more than 100 million animals die in the U.S. every year for experiments done by companies, the government, scientific facilities, or other institutions. Yet, the number is highly inaccurate since mice, rats, birds, and cold blooded animals are not believed to be animals by the Animal Welfare Act. The Animal Welfare Act is one of the only actions that are done to ensure that animals are protected from horrible lab conditions and painful experiments, yet they are barely reinforced. The previously mentioned animals make up more…

However, technology has replaced the need for almost all types of animal experimentation. These alternative testing methods are producing more efficient results and are eliminating the horrors and inhumanity associated with traditional animal testing. Many people are rejecting alternative methods because they are new and unorthodox. However, alternative methods of testing do not mean putting humans at risk. They do not mean putting a halt on medical progress. Rather, non-animal testing will greatly improve the quality and humaneness of our toxicity testing and drug…

“The world does not need another eyeliner, hand soap, food ingredient, drug for erectile dysfunction, or pesticide so badly that it should come at the expense of animals’ lives” (Top five). Animals are being wasted every year by testing them on useless products that are not necessary. In addition, the animals are killed at the end of each test, thus, thousands of animals die with pain. The tests the animals receive are inhumane. “To test rabbits for development of toxicity, a pregnant rabbit is taken and exposed by force feeding, throughout her pregnancy. She is killed on the day she is expected to give birth. Her babies are extracted and evaluated for birth defects” (Cosmetic). These types of testing are morally wrong.…

When it comes to the topic of animal testing, most of us will readily agree that it is a debatable topic. Where this argument usually ends, however, is on the conversation if animal testing is necessary. Whereas some are convinced that using animals for testing has contributed to many lifesaving cures and treatments, others maintain that these animals are very different from humans and, therefore, make poor test subjects. My own view is these animals have produced many treatments, but not outcomes that are effective enough in the human body, therefore should not be using animals.…

The products we use everyday are a luxury that we are blessed to have and be able to use everyday. They are so easy to use and the benefits are so great that people don’t really care how they are made before they hit the shelves. But not many people think about all the tests that the product had to go through to get on the store's shelves. Not many people think about the negatives of the product and all the test that are done on ANIMALS. Animals that are tested on are put through medical tests that could potentially kill them or harm them extremely. The beauty product industry and scientist should find a new way to test their products and drugs without the endangerment to animals.…

In Human Society International it states that 9/10 candidate medicines that appear safe and effective in animal studies fail when given to humans. This shows that every 10 experiments done on animals only 1 will work. This also shows that animals are being killed even if the experiment doesn’t work. In the UK an estimated 70,000 people are killed or severely disabled every year by unexpected reactions to drugs. All these drugs have passed animal tests (Human Society International). This shows that animal testing isn’t reliable if the medicines that are approved are killing people who are taking them. This is important because if the medicines are killing people that have been tested on animals, their should be a new way to make sure they’re safe. This shows that animal testing is useless and there should be another way to make sure drugs are safe before giving them to…

Animal experimentation is cruel and dangerous. According to Humane Society International, over one hundred million animals like fish, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, mini-pigs, and monkeys are tortured by using methods like force feeding, implanting tumors, forced inhalation, food deprivation, and prolonged periods of physical restraint. More importantly over ninety five percent of the animals used are not protected beforehand. This reveals that these animals are vulnerable to mistreatment and abuse without the protection of the American…

People argue that animal testing kills to many animals. 20 million animals are used for animal testing each year. 90 percent of them are rodents such as rats and mice. If indeed the animals are killed its most likely to be a rodent. people try to kill and get rid of rodents just for the sake of getting rid of them. People who are against animal testing say that pain is afflicted on the animals. Most all research projects do not even include pain towards the animal. If the research does include pain the pain would be alleviated with anesthetic drugs. It is very important that the animal is free of stress because if the animal felt pain the data would not be sufficient.…

“Almost every major medical achievement has relied on animal testing at some stage in the process” (O’Neill 1). Scientist conclude that animal testing allows the creation of new drugs. Animal testing is cheap for them. And there is a large supply of animals for medical research. Animals are easily bred, and can easily be maintained stable in controlled laboratories. Some diseases and health problems can only be studied in living organisms. People believe that if animal testing was not conducted most of our products would not be around. People rely so much on animal testing. They believe that animal testing can save their lives, and that without it we do not know if a product is safe or not. Scientist have come down to the conclusion that animals and human body structure are very similar. Animals are biologically similar to humans in many ways. Animals are easy for scientist to study due to the fact that they have short life-cycles. Their whole life-span can be studied very easily in a controlled environment. Scientists need to follow the three Rs before practicing any kind of experimentation in an animal. The tree Rs…

Each year in the United States, an estimated 70 million animals are maimed, blinded, scalded, force-fed chemicals, genetically manipulated, and otherwise hurt and killed. Animals have to suffer and risk their lives for the name of science, by private institutions, household product and cosmetics companies, government agencies, educational institutions, and scientific centers. Animal testing is wrong but yet it is still legal in the US. The EU, European Union, have recently banned pharmaceutical and cosmetic testing on animals. There are many reasons why pharmaceutical animal testing should be banned and illegal.…

Over the past few decades more and more companies have begun to limit the amount of testing they perform on animals; for example, many cosmetic brands now advertise that they do not test on animals right on the bottle. However, animal testing is still a prominent method in the medical field for testing everything from pharmaceuticals to cutting edge therapies, and invasive procedures. Although these testing practices have been conducted for hundreds of years, evidence shows that results from animal models does not always apply to humans. Many studies have found that pre-clinical animal trials do not lead to successful treatments for humans. People who oppose using animals for testing find that the results gathered from animals do not successfully translate to humans effectively enough. In addition, “experimenting on tissues generally requires whole animals or freshly dissected body parts. Such experiments are costly and often unreliable, and can raise ethical issues” (2). There is overwhelming evidence that shows that testing on animals is by far not the best solution, scientists are working hard on new technologies to make animal…

We all know some of the products we use and the medications we take undergo several operations before they reach in our hands. We know these possessions are safe for use and have been tested. What are they being tested on is our main question. “More than 100 million animals every year suffer and die in cruel chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics tests as well as in biology lessons, medical training exercises, and curiosity-driven medical experiments at universities”(Peta, 2010). Most of the items we are talking about are tested on animals. These animals suffer both mentally and physically in the laboratories. The problem has been ignored in several studies. We as humans have the right to walk away when we are faced by bad conditions, but animals don’t get to choose even when they are dealing with many unbearable painful situations. Millions of animals are being tormented for research. Not a lot is being gained by animal testing animals are not exactly the same as humans. This is not just morally wrong but it is cruel and should be abolished.…
