Animal Cruelty

I choose this topic because animals really fascinate me. Since I was kid, I always had a pet dog. Her name is Lolita and I would break down if anything happened to that innocent puppy. I think animals are a treasure to this world. They help us understand each other. They may not be able to reason like us but that doesn’t mean they don’t feel anything. They feel pain, fear, sadness, happiness. They are animals, we are animals. We may look different but we should all take care of each other ,we were all made from the same earth.

I conducted my research by the Internet. Best source of the century. I went on many websites to expand my knowledge of animal cruelty. There is many interesting information on the web. On some websites they would show me facts about it like; which country kills the most dogs or cats? Well, this might be pretty ironic, it is China, and some other parts of Asia. I know, “shocker!” anyways, I also researched by books form the local library.

The topic I selected is relevant to the theme because of many reasons. Would you ever want to beaten up by your owner? Would you want to starve to death even if their food is not far? Would you want some greedy hunter rip off your skin of your bare flesh just to sell it for an unfair price? Would you want scientists to place you on a cold, metal table and test dangerous makeup that could possibly kill you ? Would you ever like to be run over and no one care about you, just pushed off to the side of the road? Would you want to give birth to beautiful baby’s but then taken away from you to either be eaten, tested, and/or beaten? NO, you would not like any of that. Animals go through this and much more than you can ever imagine. We need more laws to protect every animal. We are here to protect them. God put us here for a reason. Products are blinding us from the truth , turning our back from the disgusting scene that have animals beaten, starved, and dead. And everyone in

We are using animals in such a horrific way that causes negative changes to the environment. We should always think what this world be if we didn’t have the things we have. We would be miserable and everything would be a competition. There’s lots of people out there working to try to make a difference in this world, but also need people to get involved. It fitted into our course goals and objective because it made me realize how much our world is so corrupt. The only thing we could do is change our ways of thinking, so we can actually live in a peaceful and stable society. Not to think, that we could lose everything in an…

Jeremy Rifkin 's article, “A Change of Heart About Animals” argues that animals are more like humans than we imagine and as a result should be treated with the care that they deserve. Rifkin develops and supports his argument using facts about the animals and these facts end up touching hearts. In order for Rifkin to get his point across he uses a smart technique by using pathos and plays with the emotions of his audience. Rifkin loves animals and his passion and love evokes emotions that the audience can feel. Animals can feel and have emotions similar to ours. in agreement with Rifkin, I argue that it is wrong and inhumane to kill or abuse animals because they feel, they deserve to have space and should be valued as much as humans are It is wrong no animal should be killed due to abuse or testing, it is wrong and inhumane.…

    1. ATTENTION GETTER: Millions of animals are abused each year. Over a million of these animals are abused or killed just due to the involvement with domestic violence. Despite animal cruelty being a felony which can result in jail time for over 15 years and 500,000 dollars in fines, it is still an issue which occurs on a daily basis across the United States. It is important for these animals to not go unnoticed, which can be achieved if society became more enlightened and educated on the topic of animal cruelty. (Pacelle, 2011).…

Animal cruelty can either be deliberate abuse or simply the failure to take care of an animal. It really doesn’t matter what type of animal it may be it can be a farm animal, a pet, or even a wildlife animal. Any of these victims can suffer terribly. A person that has emotional problems may choose to beat, shoot, or stab the animal, or even set them on fire. When an animal is neglected they may not be given food, water, or shelter, and vet care. If humans have been given rights of their own, animals should have rights, too. Animals don’t deserve to be experimented on. They feel pain just as humans. We shouldn’t take animals for granted. They have a huge part in our world’s natural cycle. In Lisa Kemmerer’s article titled “Animal Rights” she asserts the issue of what defines animal rights. She addresses the fact that animals need rights just as humans. Ms. Kemmerer subtopics consist of the challenges that follow animal rights, the importance of animal rights, and the reasons why we need to consider standing up for animal rights. As Lisa Kemmerer states, “Animal rights is a simple idea because, at the most basic level, it means only that animal share a right to be treated with respect. It is a profound idea because its implications are far-reaching” (275). It is very important to acknowledge that animals need to be treated with respect. Animals are unable to voice their own rights. It is our duty to use our own rights to advocate the rights of animals. Without advocates for the rights of animals, our economic system may drop from unlawful standards. As a second writer suggests that as human we have moral obligations to not judge one by their outward appearance, skin colour, and ethical background yet we seem to judge animals without considering their feelings (274). We have such an impact on animals that we must stand up for animals and protect them. If we don’t take a…

Animal abuse is a topic that most people are aware of in this day and age. But to clarify this is not going to be a speech appealing to the pity of Sarah McLachlan's song during animal cruelty commercials. Believe me this topic is truly sad, but its gets worse when you look into the current problems. I will elaborate on what is currently being done. The SPCA is a very large benefactor in stopping animal abuse as many of you probably know by their numerous commercials asking for donations and public awareness but they cannot take this entire burden on their shoulders alone. The type of animal abuse I would like talk about is specific to farm animals. This is a particular topic that many people do not consider. The example i am going to use first is the life of a cow and then elaborate on chickens. A female cow on a dairy farm is repetitively impregnated, again, and again for the production of milk. Hundreds of cows residing on thousands of dairy farms across america are artificially inseminated to constantly produce milk for our consumption. After a time of nine months the cow gives birth to a calf, within hours or a day the calf is taken from the mom and transported to a veal…

All animals have rights. Unfortunately, these rights are perceived to be to some degree because of the traditional belief that animals only have instrumental value. According to Tom Regan’s essay Case for Animal Rights, all animals have moral value. If an animal has the ability feel pain, they should have moral consideration. This is a utilitarian view, which focuses on the suffering and/or pleasure of beings as morally valuable. The subject of animal cruelty has existed for a multitude of years, and has only worsened through technological advances and meat industries, and the scientific world.…
