Animal Cell Analogies
The Nucleus is like a manager. A nucleus controls the center of the cell. A manager controls the activities of the employees.

The cell membrane is like a gatekeeper. The cell membrane determines what goes into the cell and what goes out of the cell. A gatekeeper controls who can and can’t enter the gate.

The ribosomes are like construction workers. The ribosomes make proteins. The construction workers build and construct buildings.

The mitochondria is like a power plant. The mitochondria supplies energy to the cell. A power plant supplies products to the factory.

The Endoplasmic Reticulum is like a moving company. The ER is the membrane system inside the cell that’s used to produce and transport materials. A moving company transports and moves products.

The lysosomes are like garbage trucks. The lysosomes clean up the cell and digests the unwanted materials. Garbage trucks take away the wastes.

The Golgi Body is like a post office. The Golgi Body processes and packages proteins and other substances produced in the ER. A post office packages and ships out material.

A vacuole is like a refrigerator. A vacuole is a sac-like structure for storage of materials such as water, salts, and proteins. A refrigerator stores materials of food and other products.

A nucleolus is like a factory. A nucleolus produces proteins. A factory is a building where goods are produced or is assembled by a machine.

Every one is a part by a membrane, and every membrane is divided because these are created of a material that is not found in the other portions of the cell. Manufactured material, which the cells require to function, moves a outstanding distance of 1/10,000 of an inch on its passage from the cytoplasm to the lysosome, still it needs the service of lots of different proteins to ensure its safe appearance. This system is complicated and the system by which it moves from one part to another is also complicated. This particular movement from one part to another is called a gated transport system. “How does this gated system work?”…

is something that lets some things in and some things out of the cell. It is an outer cover for the cell. If the cell membrane was non existences the cell would spill all over the place. Its function is to protect the integrity of the interior of the cell by allowing certain substances into the cell, while keeping other substances out. It is composed of a thin, double-layered sheet of lipids, around the Cell and is a protective membrane layer around every Cell.…

Cell membrane is a thin, elastically, living semi permeable membrane so it controls what goes in and out of the cells. Cell membrane is also made up of two layers of lipids with protein molecules between them which are called phospholipids bilayer. The outer side of each layers is hydrophobic (water hating) while the inward facing lipid chain that touch the water are hydrophilic (water-loving). Phospholipids act as building blocks of the biological cell membranes in virtually all organisms.…

Cell membrane- The cell membrane is a thin semi-permeable membrane that surrounds the cytoplasm of a cell. Its function is to protect the integrity of the interior of the cell by allowing certain substances into the cell, while keeping other substances out. It also serves as a base of attachment for the cytoskeleton in some organisms and the cell wall in others. Thus the cell membrane also serves to help support the cell and help maintain its shape.…
