Analysis Of Three C's Of Leadership
In his lecture, Colonel Arthur J. Athens briefly tells a story when one of his mentor asked a Gunnery Sergeant, “Gunny, what would you follow me?” In reponse, the Gunny asked the Lieutenant, “Do you know your job or are you striving hard to learn it? Will you make the hard but right decisions even if costs you personally? Do you care as much as about us as you care about your self?” These questions are related to the three C’s of leadership that Colonel Athens claims, which are: Confidence, Courage, and Compassion. Col. Athens provided real life examples to emphasize how important these leadership charateristics are. He was confident in what he said, and I could not agree with him more.
