Back when I first joined, my focus in the club was solely Certamen, a competition that surrounds the Latin language and Roman culture. As I spent in the club, however, it soon gained a dear place in my heart. The JCL community is truly incredible, and I formed many unforgettable friendships thanks to the club. Recently, I was in one of our Intermediate Certamen teams at Yale University Tournament, and my team won second place. Unfortunately, the other Intermediate team did not advance to the finals. In The National Honors Society and Student Council my role was to fundraise money for certain organizations and our community and to raise awareness for those certain causes, while in volleyball and cheer I was a member in these sports and competitively tried to beat other teams while encouraging my own. I have participated in my college community by being involved in Christian Business Leaders, Impact, and church. In Christian Business Leaders I help our Outreach program by finding activities and ways our organization can help people, and then by carrying them out. In Impact and Church, I am involved and surrounded by people who hold each other accountable to live Christian lives and to reach out to others and show God’s…

I in the long run floated towards the gathering that had a proclivity towards extracurricular activities. A considerable lot of the children in that group, including myself, were competitors that still had an enthusiasm for information and self-improvement. That one of a kind athletes, volunteering, and scholastics made that group particularly alluring to me in light of the fact that it secured the majority of my hobbies. The other pleasant thing about that community is that we have the ability to become well rounded and develop better communication skills. I assumed the part as the head athletic trainer, as well as academic decathlon and National Honor Society Vice President. Every “clique” was accounted for in our group. Having agreeable blend of all the other communities truly permitted this group to be varied and one of a kind from numerous different groups that the members could have generally been a part of. I was a unique piece of patchwork in the quilt of our…

Then it became clear to me, I needed extracurricular activities to become who I wished to be. Throughout my high school career I’ve participated in several extracurricular actives such as math club, soccer and UIL One Act. My life has revolved around soccer since I was four years old. My whole family was born into the sport and I’m so thankful that I have the support from my family and friends to continue to follow my dream in playing college soccer. I believe my life would not be the same without participating in the sport I love and playing with the people I grew up with. I wouldn’t have met half the people I know now. All my teammate’s families that treat me like their family would have been just imaginary. I wouldn’t have a second family to fall back on when I need. Soccer had made me for who I am. The reason I’m so competed and driven is because of the game. Soccer has helped me become a responsible hardworking young adult that doesn’t like to fail. My never-quit…

The most significant extracurricular activity that I participate in would most likely be track and field during the indoor and outdoor seasons. I maintain a paid job and also help out at the local library, yet my experience as an athlete for Exeter High School has instilled within me invaluable time management skills, work ethic, and determination. Lettering all previous years I have competed, and being elected the team’s most valuable player last year, I work extremely hard on and off the track to achieve my goals. Balancing training with school can be difficult at times, but in a way I seem to work better having more on my plate. If I had to pick one extracurricular activity to pursue in college, I would definitely choose club volleyball. Ever since I started playing volleyball in the 7th grade, I have been hooked. From that point on, the sport has become an invaluable part of me that has helped me grow into the person I am today. Since I joined volleyball two years after most of my peers, I was put on the “B-team.” I was determined to work as hard as I could to be placed on an advanced high school team. Thankfully, my hard work earned me a spot on a state-winning varsity roster as a freshman. We went on to win two state championships, and I personally received an All-West Region award. In this way, volleyball taught me that teamwork, dedication, and perseverance…

Although these facts came as a shock to me, they also piqued my interest. Because much of my growth can be attributed to the extracurricular activities I have invested myself in, I cannot imagine myself without the demanding cross country practices, or the baked goods I sell to raise funds for Relay for Life, or the Gwinnett Student Leadership Team seminars that my peers and I plan for our school. Although, at times, I become more stressed with the extra demands of my club activities, the fruitful results allow me to relax as my efforts become tangible. By running, baking and socializing, I was able to briefly escape the academic pressures put on me by…
