In an article regarding the obsession over the Dream, it is said that, “The myth of the American Dream is twofold… The material component suggests… a motive for immigration to America… The spiritual component, the metaphysics of the American Dream, is a blend of optimism and happiness... in which happiness is a thing to be pursued” (Sánchez 3).
