Explain Why The American Dream Still Exist?
The American Dream is financial stability. For many Americans “the richness of the promise has not run out”(11). The promise of a good life in America is still out there that is why the American Dream has not run out. The American Dream is still out there because, one can get a job that provides financial stability, if one works for it one can achieve it, hard work and dedication can take a person anywhere. There are many different reasons why the American Dream still exists. Many households in the U.S. have wage earners “earning between $30,000 and $90,000 a year. They also own a home and at least two cars”(56). Those households have achieved jobs that provide financial stability for their families, having a job that provides financial stability is one of the reasons why the American Dream is still out there. If one works for it, one can achieve success. A woman named, Delores Kesler, founded a staffing company with $10,000 “20 years later, her company, Accustaff, had projected revenues of 2 billion”(They live the dream). That reason being is because those who say the American Dream doesn’t exist say that not everyone is given the same opportunities. The truth is, everyone is given chances and opportunities to succeed, whether or not they take advantage of those opportunities is one’s own choice. Everyone born in America is given free education, loans, and a job of sorts, and even welfare which can be used to start a business or get back onto their feet and help them achieve their American Dream is some way or another.
