Bangladesh is an agro based country and most of the people are associated with agricultural productions and its services. Agriculture is considered as the prime economic sector in Bangladesh. Statistics shows that contribution of this sector is nearly 30% of total GDP and about 70% of the total industrial work forces are employed in the agro based industries. Live stock sector, strongly dominated by poultry, plays a vital role. More than 20% of the total population of the country depends on the livestock sector directly or indirectly for earning their livelihood. Besides poultry fisheries are having escalating growth from last decade. Maxwell Agro Industries Limited started its production from the beginning of the year 2012 to promote agricultural sectors and to enhance agricultural productions. It is working in Bangladesh with a dream of betterment for the country and particularly for the country people.

Maxwell Agro Industries Limited is the sister concern of Maxwell Group and it was launched in the year of 2012 with a slogan “Agriculture, the Way of Economic Development”. Maxwell Agro Industries Limited has sufficient and qualified manpower to operate the business especially for the development and the promotion of agricultural products. It has adequate land to run business in different agro based areas. Maxwell agro industry is focused on generating economic and agricultural prosperity for the stakeholders, consumers and the beneficiaries considering harmony in community and environment.     Livestock plays an important role in the national economy of Bangladesh with a direct contribution of 2.95% percent to the agricultural GDP (Bangladesh Economic Review, 2006) and providing 15 percent of total employment in the economy. The livestock sub-sector that includes poultry offers important employment and livelihood opportunities particularly for the rural poor, including the functionally landless, many of whom regard livestock as a main livelihood option. About 75 percent people rely on livestock to some extent for their livelihood, which clearly indicates that the poverty reduction potential of the livestock sub-sector is high. According to Bangladesh Economic Review, (2006), the growth rate in GDP in 2004-05 for livestock was the highest of any sub-sector at 7.23%, compared to 0.15% for crops, and 3.65% for fisheries sub-sector.
