The business plan I chose was a child care services business plan titled Kid’s Community College. This business plan is very well thought out and provides much strength. The owner/proprietor has 17 years of executive management experience, budgeting experience, and has a lot of knowledge in advanced technology. The industry consultant is relied upon for industry expertise and offers insight regarding rules and regulations, and government programs. This person is qualified as they own their own licensed day care. The campus director has a BS in education, 2 years experience as a Facility Administrator, 2 years experience as an Operations Manager, 5 years of managerial experience, and 3 years of grant writing experience. The vice president offers college level public relations experience, 5 years of customer service experience, 8 years of child care services experience, and extensive knowledge in dance, art, and theatre. The business plan expresses a need for an experienced CPA and expresses that some of the current members need to obtain their Child Care Development Associate credentials, which will be a requirement among future upper-level employees.…

This information of choice fits in with my personal interest because I am very sympathetic, affectionate, and eager to soothe hurt feelings, and not to mention my leadership skills have always been great. An assisted living facility business takes hard work and dedication. In order for me to start my own Assisted Living business I would have to first obtain a specialized license in assisted living business. I must attend a required orientation by the licensing agency in the state where I would like to start my business. The Licensing Representatives will provide specific requirements about the licensing upon meeting with them. They determine the number of residents allowed according to the size of the facility.…
For this first week of class we have to read the first issue in the book Taking Sides. This issue stated the question “Is Institutional Child Care Beneficial to Children?” The big argument is if parents should put their child into institutional care (day care) or stay at home and not make a steady income while having a child. Nowadays people wants careers and their family times to match up, which always doesn’t work out. Parents always want the best for their children. So, if they want their child in a day-care of some sort, they want to make sure their child gets the best experience out of it that they can. Another argument throughout this issue besides the quality of day-care the children could be recieving is how much quality time…
Being a single parent has its ups and downs and can be challenging and hard especially if the parent doesn’t have much support or help. Balancing school, work and children can be a hassle and take up all of a parent’s time leaving them with no time for themself. Who is going to watch my children while I’m at work or school? I need a babysitter. I can’t afford daycare. I don’t have reliable transportation. These are a few of the questions and statements that run through a lot of parent’s minds. Looking around Omaha, there are a lot of In Home Daycares on almost every corner or street. When parents can’t afford the high daycare prices they target In Home Daycares that meet the following criteria: the In Home Daycare is run by a neighbor, relative or friend in whom they know trust and they have a clean background record, the price is affordable or the daycare offers a payment plan, it is located in a decent neighborhood and environment, and an educational curriculum is taught within the different age groups.…

For centuries we have seen our family unit only one way; with the father going off to work, and the mother staying home with the children. All the way back to the beginning of humans it has been this way. Lately however, this is all changing. With women 's lib came the "new woman". She wants to do everything a man can do including having a career. The only problem is, there is no one to stay home to raise the children if mom goes off to work. The need for daycare has risen sharply as more moms are choosing to work rather than stay home. As a result, the family unit is growing apart. According to the National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agency, over 20 million children ages 0-12 are in full time child care this year in the United States. Many of our children are now spending most of the day away from their home and family, and because of this, are not able to experience the values of close family bonds that our grandparents and great-grandparents had. If we wish to preserve our family ties and bonds, we should take steps toward bringing the family unit back together. The first step should encourage families to let children stay home with mom when they are young, and not put them in a daycare.…

In my setting a child came to me crying and told me that a child has made him upset by snatching the ball of him at lunch time. I called the other child who had made him cry and asked him why he snatched the ball of him. I explained him he should not snatch a ball or anything from anyone he must ask kindly. The child did not pay attention to what I had said to him and continued to do snatch things from other children. I then decided used the doll puppets to demonstrate the children that snatching things from other people can make them very upset and especially when they are your friends. I questioned the children that is it nice to make your friends upset. The child who had made his friend cry he apologized to his friend as he realized what he has done wrong with his friend.…
