A self-directed learner is someone who is very independent in learning and does not fear to be self-disciplined in learning. He or she takes responsibility for their own learning.
An intrinsically motivated learner is someone who participates in learning activities because of an inward satisfaction of contentment rather than the outward rewards. An intrinsic learner derives inner pleasure from learning. He or she is motivated internally.
An active learner consciously engages his or her mind in learning. They intentionally focus on learning.

For my personal growth as a self-motivated learner, I plan to follow these strategies:
- I would take full responsibility for my learning by knowing that it is my duty to study and learn whatever my instructor teaches me. By knowing that my instructor's job is to help my understand and learn, but if I do not take responsibility I would not learn anything.
- I would make efforts to vary the contents of my study sessions. Since I tend to get bored of studying or researching during sessions, I would try to switch it up and keep my brain active from feeling tired.
- I would make my studying methods transferable. Personally, I understand and remember contexts easily when I sing or watch it in the form of a video clip. So, I would come up with unique rhythms or tunes for important sections of my study materials.
- I would also learn to make use of the various resources the university has provided for us. I realized I have not been using the library to improve my writing skills when researching and writing papers. I would take out time to make use of
