Abraham Lincoln Leadership Qualities
Abraham Lincoln had a unique style of leadership, that’s why he stands out to me as a great leader. Lincoln had characteristics that showed that he was honest, integrity, impartiality and showed ambition. Lincoln had such great influence of power, he was able to inspire the troops during the Civil War. Lincoln came from a simple farm boy to be the president of the United States of America that inspired the world.
Abraham Lincoln had nearly no education at all. Lincoln had spent less than 12 months attending schools as a youth growing up on the frontier. Lincoln moved to New Salem, Illinois, where he worked at a store clerk, he also study law in his spare time. This is where Lincoln earned his nickname “Honest Able,” there are rumors that Lincoln was not always honest before he turn his life around. Lincoln became a very successful attorney with a large practice, he also served four terms in the Illinois State House of Representatives and one term in Congress. The Homestead Act opened up settlement in the western United States, allowing any American, including freed slaves, to put in a claim for up to 160 free acres of federal land. By the end of the Civil War, 15,000 homestead claims had been established, and more followed in the postwar years. These are only two out many accomplishment of Lincolns.
