Aaron Flores Research Paper
A Day at a Time Crack! The baseball sails over the outfield fence, and Aaron jogs the bases listening to the cheers of his teammates as they run out to meet him at home plate. This is a common feeling experienced by Aaron Flores, a baseball player who lives at Northwestern in Orange City, but as you might tell by the name is not a typical Dutchman. Aaron is a Spanish-American born and raised in California by his mother, attending Northwestern to seek degrees in computer science and business administration. Aaron is a hardworking, loving, and enduring young man who has had to live one day at a time, since life has not always been easy for him. First of all, Aaron was born in Orange County, California, on January 15, 1998, where he lived until …show more content…
His mother and he depended on each other for everything. However, Aaron said that they were not always very close to each other. Aaron did not get the opportunity to talk about issues with her, such as being bullied or the talk about the birds and the bees. Aaron had to keep to himself, since no one was around. He learned to be a listener, not a talker. Although Aaron and his mother did not have deep conversations, they loved each other deeply, and they both knew it. A prime example was that Aaron’s mother came to his senior day of baseball, the first game she ever came to, and that greatly touched his heart. The most memorable time of Aaron’s life was two days before he left for Northwestern. Aaron and his mother had a real, deep talk. She explained to him how much she would miss him, for he was all she had. She apologized for the way he had to be raised, in poor conditions with no father. Although it was a sad conversation, Aaron loved it, and he said, “Nothing will break the bond between me and my mother.” In conclusion, Aaron is a great blessing to have on campus. He is a wonderful young man who has persevered through much in life. His decision to come to Northwestern shows how loving and caring he is, since he took the cheapest route to not stress out his mother financially. He wanted to go out, meet new friends, and strengthen his faith. Aaron is a wonderful friend and he has a wonderful career ahead of him. He will certainly succeed at Northwestern and beyond, taking it one day at a

Sadly, four of his siblings died as babies or young children. From an early age, he was heartily spiritual, as well as mischievous; he constantly entertained his family with his humor and practical jokes. The third oldest in his family, St. Miguel was unquestionably very close with his older sister. After she entered a convent at age 20, he started to recognize his own calling to the priesthood. Though his father wanted him to continue with the family business, Miguel lived for God and entered the Jesuit novitiate in El Llano, Michoacán in 1911.
