A Qualitative Leadership Analysis
There are many traits and skills that support effective leadership. Charles Krulak, United States Marine Corps General identified 14 basic traits of an effective leader: bearing, courage, decisiveness, dependability, endurance, enthusiasm, initiative, integrity, judgement, sense of justice, knowledge, loyalty, tact, and unselfishness. (Krulak, 1998) These traits and skills contribute to effective leadership despite the field. The traits and skills would be most effective are: decisiveness, integrity, and unselfishness.
Decisiveness
A decisive leader is an effective leader. A decisive leader has to be able to make tough decisions. A decisive leader should be able to make decisions and stand behind them. Employees don’t like following behind a leader who is

(Schyns, Kiefer, Kerschreiter, &Tymon (2011) In the Leadership Quarterly, analyzed whether a happy leader was a good leader. This article addressed that organizational scholars have tried to identify traits of effective and ineffective leaders. Although there has been renewed interest in the role of emotions in leadership, there is currently no quantitative summary of leader trait affectivity and leadership. (Joseph, Dhani, Shen, McHugh & McCord, 2015)
