A Career As A Medical Assistant
Medical assistants work under the supervision of a physician to perform administrative and clinical tasks. Administrative duties include checking in patients at the front desk, answering the phone, scheduling patients, compiling medical records and charts, operating computer software and office equipment. Medical assistants also get to perform clinical duties by assisting the physician in taking and recording patients' vital sings, explaining procedures, administering medications, drawing blood, sterilizing equipment and conducting a variety of tests in the lab.
