As a healthcare provider, I would want my professional appearance and demeanor to be one of the key attributes recognized by my clients as their reassurance that I am capable of providing exceptional service and consultation to them. Having a welcoming, cordial personality, coupled with an empathetic and sympathetic “bedside manner” always seems to be an extremely favourable combination. Unfortunately, there are some instances whereby a healthcare professional may have an amazing personality and an approachable manner, but lacks when it comes to their professional appearance. Personally, I feel “dressing the part” is part of the job. If you take care to do this well, it will make you feel empowered, which encourages you to conduct yourself professionally and provide the best service you can. In many circumstances, this sense of professional pride can often lead you to going beyond the call of duty.…

As a healthcare professional, a main goal in patient care is to inspire confidence in the patient in a professional manner. Since conveying professionalism in any workplace encompasses the way people communicate, one of the first ways healthcare professionals can inspire confidence in patients is by the way they look. Healthcare professionals can appear professional by removing any body jewelry located on body parts other than the ears and by covering any tattoos that may be visible to both patients and coworkers. Also, since patients may be sensitive or allergic to certain fragrances, healthcare professionals should refrain from using perfume, cologne, or any other substance that may emit a scent.…

As a medical assistant, you should always have your patient’s become first they should never be last. Upon talking to the phone with the doctor’s office, I think they should know the knowledge of the office and the producers. I do think that each MA has their own set of skills and qualities. As a MA we should always put others first as I said earlier and also we should treat them how we want to be treated. If a patient gets rude and disrespectful with us on the phone we should just keep a positive attitude until the call is finished. We as a MA should always be attentive to the person, we should ask what works best for…

The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines professionalism as the conduct, aims, or qualities that characterize or mark a profession or a professional person. Yet the White Paper on Pharmacy Student Professionalism says it is displaying values, beliefs and attitudes that put the needs of another about your personal needs. There is still another definition. The Medical Professionalism Project says professionalism is the basis of medicine 's contract with society. It demands placing the interests of patients above those of the physician, setting and maintaining standards of competence and integrity, and providing expert advice to society on matters of health. In my opinion, a person 's attitude, values, and behaviors are influenced greatly by the environment they grew up in. So since these traits are entwined in our personality, they cannot be taught to an individual. Also, I believe that the definition of professionalism is different for every person considering every single person 's morals and values of life are different.…
