Providing a tangible influence to people’s health is something I find personally stimulating and rewarding. I feel that studying radiography will give me the opportunity to study the body through advanced imaging techniques whilst allowing me to help people. I hope to achieve a career as a radiographer with the NHS in the future and specialise in particular departments using procedures such as ultrasound or X-rays. Therefore I consider this course would be great for me. My AS level choices biology

skills‚ are also many different types of sonography‚ but the pay you get becoming a sonographer is well worth the hard work. “What in the world even is a sonographer?” Well a sonographer is a diagnostic medical professional who operate ultrasonic imaging devices to produce diagnostic images‚ scans‚ or videos. In simpler terms they are the people who your mom‚ wife‚ or sister went to when she was pregnant. They are the doctors who can tell you what the gender of our baby is. Most diagnostic sonographers

Techs have a big responsibility in the hospital‚ clinic‚ or an imaging center. Radiology techs do not only take x-rays‚ they can also specialize in MRI and CT imaging. The median annual wage for radiology techs was $52‚210 in May 2008.(“Radiology Technologists and Technicians”). Most training programs for radiology techs often last 21 to 24 months.(“Radiology Technician Information”). Radiology technologists perform diagnostic imaging exams like x-rays‚ CT scans‚ and MRIs. Radiology techs take

History‚ Use and Safety of Ultrasound Introduction Ultrasound is the generation of energy using sound wave of about 20‚000 or more vibrations per second. The ultrasound is mostly used in imaging tools and particularly in medical diagnosis. The ultrasound uses sound waves that are above the frequency of the human ear. A transducer is used to give off the sound waves that are reflected back from the tissues‚ and organs giving a picture of what are inside the body. This is later drawn on

nuclear medicine uniquely provides information about both the structure and function of virtually every major organ system within the body. It is this ability to characterize and quantify physiologic function which separates nuclear medicine from other imaging modalities‚ such as x-ray. Nuclear medicine procedures are safe; they involve little or no patient discomfort and do not require the use of anesthesia. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is a highly specialized healthcare professional who works closely

players in medical diagnostic imaging market in the US‚ instead of manufacturing it by EMI itself. X-ray is the “standard” for medical industry in 1972‚ with GE and Picker as the market leaders in US. Although CT scanner is potentially a disruptive innovation to transform diagnostic imaging‚ its success relies on high adoption rate by hospitals and reputable medical professionals. What EMI needs to do is to establish CT scanner as the “new standard” for diagnostic imaging‚ and licensing the technology

Application Of Physics In Medicine Medical physics is generally speaking the application of physics concepts‚ theories and methods to medicine. A medical physics department may be based in either a hospital or a university. Clinical medical physicists are often found in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology‚ Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Oncology. However‚ areas of specialty are widely varied in scope and breadth e.g.‚ clinical physiology‚ neurophysiology (Finland)‚ and audiology
