Argumentative Essay

The act of abortion should be banned because it deliberately destroys a human life. I believe that every form of the act, without any exceptions, should be outlawed simply because abortion is merely "murdering out of convenience". From the moment that a child is conceived, no matter how small or underdeveloped he or she may seem, that child is a human being that is a separate part of its mother and a human entity all its own. And the taking of a human life by another human being is easily defined as homicide, which under other circumstances would be punishable by law. Many people try to rationalize their actions by saying that their abortion actually contributes to society and that “if legal abortion were not available, more women would experience unwanted childbearing” and that “mothers with unwanted births suffer from higher levels of depression” thus resulting in the abuse of their “unwanted children”. (Source: PlannedParenthood.com; Barber, et al., 1999) However, women have the opportunity to opt for an adoption for their unborn child, not only letting an innocent child live but giving another family the prospect of having a very wanted addition to their household. Would we “eliminate” a child simply because he or she is unwanted by their parents? No, our society would find an alternative home for the child while caring for him or her in federal funded homes until a proper caretaker is obtained. Aborting an unborn infant is essentially the same as murdering an unwanted child who lives outside of the womb. Both are seen by their parent(s) as “valueless” individuals in society and an inconvenience to the parents themselves. Yet the law in the United States says that the abortion of a baby up to the point of partial birth is legal, except when “the baby is delivered past the [baby's] navel . . . outside the body of the mother," or "in the case of head-first presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother,"

Abortion is murder of an innocent life, and it is completely wrong in every way. There is no justification that could cover the fact that we are murdering our most defenseless human beings, and if anything we should be doing everything to protect them and keep them safe from danger, but yet some are doing the complete opposite. Abortion should never be an option, and one should never feel like abortion is the only choice because it is not the only choice. One must understand that abortion is not just, and people must come to their senses and realize the true outcomes of aborting a…

How would it be like if you weren’t allowed to choose what happens to your future? Some women do not get the luxury of choosing for themselves due to some laws set and they do not get the option whatsoever. That should be different as women are the ones who carry the babies, not the ones who are voting against it. Even though the baby never had the chance to live life, women should have the right to choose what they want to do with their baby because it may be bad for the women herself to have to care of a baby, they may not be prepared for a baby, and we do not know their circumstances of the situation.…

Whoever assists in the act of abortion must be sentenced. Do not let the thought of mercy corrupt your minds, for if an abortionist were granted acquittal, his detestable work will be encouraged instead of outlawed. ( Consequence ) The abortionist does not only harm one, but instead causes suffering and loss to many, even the judges who consider his case; for the judge's own grandchildren could fall to the same fate others have if the abortionist is not found guilty. What is an abortion? Should abortions be legal in the United States? An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy. Today, abortion is one of the most controversial topics in the United States, some people believe abortions should be illegal, but abortions are legal nationwide. My opinion is that abortions should be illegal because an unborn baby should have a chance at life just like the two who conceived it. Abortions should be illegal because there are ways to prevent a pregnancy, it is the killing of a living human being, murder, and it’s a possibility that a woman can have complications after an abortion including psychological trauma.…

An abortion, defined by the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, is a “medical procedure used to end a pregnancy and cause the death of the fetus.” In simpler terms, anyone who has had an abortion has inhumanly murdered an innocent child. “Every single day, (abortion) kills more Americans than were killed on 9/11. Every single year, (it) kills about as many Americans as have been killed on all the battlefields in all of the wars in U.S. history combined. Abortion is a national disgrace.
