Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) Commerce , as a field, had always fascinated me right from my school days. I believe my penchant for this field stems from the fact that Finance runs in world and every sector requires proper finance system. My Uncle is a chartered accountant. During my school days, I used to go to my Uncles's office and help him manage his portfolio of equities and other financial instruments. This was the time I learnt the first lesson of finance from my Uncle i.e. risk and return are proportionate. In 2006 when I was in the twelth class the Indian stock market crashed. But fortunately, my Uncle had a well-diversified portfolio because of which his returns were protected from the downside risk. This was when I learnt the second principle of finance from my Uncle i.e. diversification reduces risk. While I understood these two principles intuitively, it produced in me a strong urge to learn and understand the complex theory behind the working of Finance. This, I believe, was a turning point in my career. I made up my mind to pursue a career in Finance and hence decided to do my bachelor degree in commerce (Accounting). Hence I took admission in commerce stream with fifth subject as mathematics xxx, which is one of the prominent schools chain in north India. During eleventh class, I developed a strong penchant for quantitative-oriented subjects like accounting, business theories with what does bussines means, micro economics and macro economics. During the Eleventh Class I learnt how bussines organization came into existence through a long procces and what does the basic difference between micro and macro economics and what does they mean. Derivatives can play an important role in optimizing a Portfolio's performance and in managing risk. This exposure left me wanting for more knowledge in the area of Risk Management. Because of my penchant for the rigor in Derivatives and Risk Management I took my summer vacations to study the the

I wasn’t terribly sure what I wanted to do with my life, nor did I have any idea how to get where I thought I wanted to be. My relative lack of passion wasn’t seen as a deterrent in my affluent Texas town, though, as it was a place where nearly all high school students went on to college—it was the only option we really considered or that was presented to us by our families, teachers, and counselors as a post-graduation plan. So I began the requisite search by looking first at nontraditional college environments, for while I had done reasonably well at my large and impersonal public high school, nor had I flourished either. It seemed to me that if I was going to spend the next four years of my life in school, I might as well try a different tactic than the one that had allowed me to coast rather unremarkably through high school.…

My pursuit of physical therapy as a profession comes from my interest in healing the human body. Originally inspired by my grandfather, it has been my profession of choice for as long as i can remember; From a young child observing my grandfather unable to be mobile without the use of a cane, to my teenage years when I learned about the dynamics of the human body, to even more recently, after the excision of an osteochondroma on my femur during my time spent in the care of a physical therapist. <---RUN ON SENTENCE, ADJUST IT These humbling experiences have helped solidify my passion for physical therapy.…

When introduced to economics in high school I realized that it interestingly qualified as a subject of both Arts and Science. It was an area defined by precise rules, principles and axioms and yet there was tremendous scope for self-expression in the form of interpretation and analysis. This facet of economics intrigued me very much and I decided to pursue further studies in Economics.…

Management education has of late become one of the fastest growing industries all over the globe, and especially so in India. The manner in which business schools have been proliferating in all metros and tier II cities in our country during the last couple of decades goes to prove that business education, as a commercial proposition, has become big business. Being a lucrative business, politicians, real estate magnates and charitable trusts have been vying with each other to jump into the business school band-wagon. For many, this was an ideal business with minimum investment, zero risk and assured high returns from the start. But alas, as is the case of every business, the boom period appears to have come to an abrupt end today, as is evident from the unfilled seats for MBA programmes in several institutes during the current academic year. There are a few business schools in Bangalore today, that failed to fill the seats this year beyond 5 to 15, against their sanctioned…

However, during my years in the department of Education and Mathematics, I realized that I do not want to be a teacher. I worked in different sectors such as sales, marketing, teaching, web design and photography as an intern or part-time worker to see what I want to do with my career.…
